are neon light underbody kits out of style? your opinion?
so whats your opinion? do you think its out of style to put a neon underbody kit on TL a-spec (or any other car nowadays)? ive been contemplating doing this for a while now. with all the blue leds setting off the TL's interior, dont you think a blue or purple would really set off the outside? just curious on everyones thoughts. i used to have a green set on my old car (a 92' white saturn SL1... oh yeah! tight! haha! i was 16 then and didnt know any better!). i think a set on a WDP would look really good. if your a go for this idea, what colors do you think would look good on a WDP?

I hope you have a flame suit on...
but seriously if thats what you like go for it i saw one that i would get when i can find someone over here i can trust to work on my car.
most folks on here are anti-rice (wow anti-rice sound so funny spoken) so dontbe surprised to get some off the wall/flame comments.
but to answer your question white

I like underbodys on certain cars, but not on a TL. This is not a ricer car and we should not try to turn it into one. Leave the underbodys for some one with a Civic. I am sorry, its just not something you put on a car like the TL. Enjoy the car, do some real mods to it for power and sound, but stay away from underbodys. Unless you plan on entering into a Neon show on a regular basis, they are not legal to have on and drive with in most states. There are exceptions, but most places you will get a nice ticket for it. I know that is how it is in my state. They say it distracts other drivers . Just gives them another reason to make money.
In the end it is your car and you have the right to do what ever you want to it. I just think that something like that should not be done on a TL.

it was in style at one point....remember back when the first fast and the furious came out? thos two black civics (i think) that they used to hijack semi's. they had neon green underbody lights and they looked pretty nice to me.
you probably shouldn't do it on your TL though. the only people with underbody lights i see nowadays are hicks with a banged up compact trucks.

Yes, a couple of people here have put neons on their TL's...you can do a search to see them (both blue, I believe).
As for whether to do them, that's up to you. You have to decide what's important to you: what's in style (what others think) or what you like (what you think).
Personally, I like neons on cars, if it's done right. Any car can look good with them, if it's done right.

don't do it man...personally, you're trying to make it something it's not -- a tuner...no matter what color underbody kit, i think it devalues and loses respect for the car...
just curious, you don't already have neons on your window squirters, do you? because i would lose those if you do...

you asked for opinions...here is mine:
probably safe to say anyone over the age of 24 shakes their head and laugh when they see a car with any kind of "upgraded" lighting, fins, super dark tint, bling-bling, fart-tips, various random stickers, kitchen sinks, hot tubs, and other cosmetic changes.
but, seriously, it belongs in movies or show cars to me...i don't like it at all. not classy...simply a failed effort for attention.

do whatever you want! I've always liked the look of neon but the rice fiasco killed it.. I remember having neon on when it first came out like 15 years ago.. its definetly not an "in style" thing to have anymore.. but hell it doesn't matter as long as you're having fun looking at it when it's on in your driveway.

Are you concerned with the "message" you are sending out?
Do you wish to identify yourself with certain groups of people who follow this path?
What about when it comes time to sell or trade? Are your mods easy to remove or are you concerned about this?
But like you said, it is his car and he has every right to do as he sees fit regardless of what other may think or say.

FISHYTL- i was being sarcastic...putting a kitchen sink on a car (i.e. riced out civic) is about as useful and ridiculous as the coffee can fart tips and 40" aluminum wings on the back of a FWD car.

I Do It For Me!!!!
I dont give a %$*( what people think - I do what I like for me to make me feel good. If you dont like them great. I have neons on the outside, wheel well leds and neons in the car under the seats, 7 inch monitors in the head rest and DVD conversion for front panel. I love the lights, my kids love the lights and everyone who sees them think it looks cool and classy. The TL is truely a very nice looking car - the lights accent it. I have seen a TL with black rims - not what I like - but what the %*&^, he doesn't give a $#@* what I think!!
