Need a TL and fast. Help Please

So my 06 accord 6 speed was totaled a week ago and I have always wanted a Tl, I thought I had one lined up in northern va but it was sold as I was about to put a deposit on it over the phone. So this is what I'm looking for I really really want a type s, either white or black and MUST HAVE a nav and a 6 speed, I want black but may be able to settle with the white and here is the biggie I need it for around 20,000 I am willing to drive a good ways to get what I'm looking for. I live in south west VA and will go up to 8 hours away.

cars.com, autotrader.com...try there first.

it'll be tough to find a 6speed type-s...a lot of guys looked for months before they found what they wanted.

upside is that black is a seemingly common color for the type s. although at the price you want it at...it'll have high miles. low mileage type s will run mid to high 20's.

do your homework first, before acting on impulse. also if the price is low for some odd reason and the carfax is clean...dig a little deeper...other newbies to TLs who have been shopping a bit, have found low mileage TLs, at low prices, only to find out the car has been in an accident with major damage. so...finding what you want on the fly is not all that realistic unless you get lucky and another member is looking to sell...actually i think i remember a member in the DC area recently with a black type s 6mt looking to put his car on the market (something about getting married and the wifey not wanting MT cars).

check the black market and see what's there. right now there is one in NYC 07 type-s MT black, 49K miles. goodluck!

good luck with ur search, for ur price range ur going to be in high mileage territory. however, if the car has been maintained u shouldn't have any problems with it. good choice going with the 6mt, it will be tough to find one, but stick to your guns and dont settle for anything less

Rushing will probably lead you to making a rash decision and getting stuck with a car you may regret buying... You will also be shocked at what low mileage TL-S's are going for. The used car market is tight and prices are at all time highs across the board.

for 20k you can probably get a high mileage manual tl-s(85000 miles or higher) out of warranty at a non acura dealer. I searched for almost 2 years to find mine.

Take your time when buying your TL. It took me a year to find the TL I wanted. Did my homework. Patience paid off. I couldn't be happier with my TL. Good luck on your search.

Do your due diligence my friend. Don't make a 20k mistake. Be patient and find the exact car you're looking for, at the price you're looking for.

FYI - all TL-S's come with Navi, but 6MT is damn hard to find. I spent about 4 months looking and finally "settled" for an auto. But dont get me wrong, I think the auto is just fine.

wow this pic realli proves that the TL was based on the Accord. the interior is VERY similiar.

20K for a TL-S? good luck with that. id buy used only if it had 30k or less on the odometer. u maybe be the 3rd owner for that TL-S with that price range

juss so u kno , u can get a brand new hyundai sonata with that budget.

It's been a year but as I see TL still keep the price. Can't you just keep the check while finding a good TL ? If you rush , you will easily be overcharged by the seller.

nice v6 6speed accord. i used to have a 2006 accord coupe and now i have a 07 tl-s. i got my 07 tl-s with 74k miles for 17.5k OTD. if you're willing to spend 20k, you can get one with lower mileage than mine.

Those are all good options. The black one is the best deal its private seller. Just check the carfax if all checks out, then

Yeah thanks everyone. Most of the TL-Ss I have found with a manual are about two thousand out of my price range. The black one with the private seller I have called and emailed but have gotten no reply. I'm not too worried about mileage as long as it's below about 70,000. I put a TON of miles on my car, and I plan on keeping whatever TL I get for a long time so the mileage isn't a big issue. If you all find anymore good leads let me know

here's one in silver spring, BUT its kinetic blue pearl. the other thing is that it looks like the previous owner parted out the car. if you notice it has the 07-08 base wheels and not the type s waffle wheels. look pretty clean. and its in your price range for a MT. not sure on any of the other little type s details (missing that is). at least it wasn't as bad the other type-s that was reparted with base parts (bumper, exhaust, wheels, tails...).

just took a peek at cars.com, nationwide search.

for your specs, there is a private seller in IN, one in an auto park in CT, and one in woodbridge at the acura dealer. keep in mind that even though they are asking for $22K, you can still try and negotiate it down to a number closer to your $20K. its a matter of how much that little extra you are willing to spend for the convenience of NOW, since you expressed a sense of urgency. G/L.

Quick question how hard is to take off the ground effects or body kit on this tl, not a fan and what kind of damage would I be looking at after it was off (holes or anything)

The rear will have holes on the bumper and you would have to get stock side replacements. Not difficult to remove but you have to consider the above factors

there will be holes when u remove the kit, but u can trade bumpers and side sills with someone who wants the kit, because i am sure someone will want the kit from you so it shouldnt be too much of a problem

If you have a car that you want to sell, please post a thread in the Black Market. Alternatively, our PM system works nicely as well....
