Does anybody have experience with SSR wheels? Especially their Competition 17" and GT7 18 inch wheels. Are they durable? I am contemplating whether to get new wheels for my 04 TL and getting a bit bogged down.

Also, anyone try to go to a wider tire then stock like 245 45 17, or 245 40 18?

I put 245/40/18 Falken Azenis ST-115 on my OEM 18's. Those rims are 8.5" wide so they handle the 245 nicely.

 

SSR rims are great. Very strong considering how much they weigh. I have 16" Integrals w/205-45 Yokohamas on my soon-to-be-departed VW GTI VR6.

 

SSR are VERY high quality wheels. They are strong for what they are... but any time you go with lower and lower profile sidewall... wheels get easier to bend.

 

Speed Star Racing. Very high quality wheels. Many come in 2 and 3 piece. Forged or semi-forged. Some are very light. Well recommended company.

i know this thread is about wheels, but I was curious as to your experience with the Falkens on your OEM 18's, which is what i'll be getting when i put in my order soon. Noise, grip, ride, etc.?
