Need some Torque Numbers
Hello everyone,
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. I need some torque numbers for some installs that I'm doing and I was hoping someone with a service guid would be so kind as to look these up for me...or....let me know if there is a place that I can look up info of this nature.
So I'm looking for:
Throttle body to plenum bolts. I think someone mentioned 16lbs?
Bolts throughout the exhaust system. I think I heard 40lbs? (more specifically, cat to j-pipe, cat to exhaust system)
Crankshaft bolt holding the pulley. I think I heard 180lbs.
Also, everyone mentioned some spot that you can stick a strong screw driver in to keep the pulley from spinning when tightening the bolt. Can anyone help describe that, or perhaps provide me a photo?
Much thanks in advance.

Do it like the rest of the population. Just tighten the bolts till they are tight......
If you are gonna lose sleep doing it that way here you go...
cat to jpipe-40ftlbs, jpipe to 2nd cat/bpipe 25 ftlbs, bpipe to mufflers 40ftlbs, tb to plenum 16ftlbs, and the crank.... proper torque is a procedure of base torque to 47ftlbs and then using a angle gauge and marking the crank and bolt, turn 60 degrees. I have worked on Acuras for a long as time and have never torqued any of these bolts. The only two things I have ever torqued (off the top of my head) are cylinder head bolts, rods and mains, camshaft caps, and lug nuts.

Thanks Racinghart. A buddy of mine gave me a torque wrench, so I figured I'd use it, but it doesn't appear to be that important. The main thing I was concerned about was overtightening and stripping out the plenum, as that would be a costly mistake and I've been known to overtighten things before. Thanks again.
