Need some advice on towing

I will be moving to Chicago from Boston this weekend. I am moving my stuff and will be towing my TL on a car carrier. Is there anything in particular that I should be aware of? This is the first time that I will be towing a car so I am a little apprehensive. Thank in advance.

Please make sure you lift the entire car......rent the trailer that completely lifts the car off the ground...trust me, it will make your life easier......

Good advice. I reserved a car carrier instead of a dolly. So all 4 wheels will be up and resting. My major concern is sway at highway speeds and drift on bends and curves. Anyone with any experience with that. Also what do I need to look into for the hitch?

Towing the TL would not be a problem using a car dolly and is far less demanding on the tow vehicle. As it is FWD, the rear wheels are just following along.
As far as towing the TL on the trailer, the trailer capacity must meet the TL weight, then the tow vehicle must be spec'd to be able to pull/stop the total weight of the car and trailer. Also, check regulations as trailer brakes may be needed, depending on the total weight.
If the tow vehicle is equipped to pull the total weight, you'll have no problems on the highway. I've towed many vehicles, but the truck/SUV was equipped to meet the tow weight, and never a problem. It definitely takes longer to stop, and will push slightly, but no problems. Just be cautious and maintain your distance.

LOL just how fast will you be taking the curves in that truck? If you drive normally I don't think it should be an issue...
