In Need Of A Service Manual? Quick Question?

I recently purchased a full shop/service manual covering the 04 - 05 Acura TL model and would be willing help anybody out if they need a scan (in PDF format) of any page or pages in the shop service manual. I know I needed it in a pinch one time and nobody could help me out so I figured I would start this thread for that purpose. PM me for copies and describe what you need in full to make sure I get you the right pages the first time! A-Spec Guy

Willing to help out with free scans (within reason). Dont ask me for the whole book though! Just case specific requests or emergency "oh crap" questions....willing to help! Just ask!

edit by mod Ron A:

I hate to be the bad guy here, but we can't allow the link to the complete scanned service manual to be shown, because of copyright laws. I would hate to see Honda, who owns the rights to the service manual, shut us down.

We shouldn't have a problem furnishing a few pages for specific requests, but free access to the entire manual is a big no-no.

Now I recognize you. I'm just not good with faces. This is a much more auspicious start than the end of the last entity. Hope it lasts.

No worries Ron.....all good here. Never meant it to get the way it did last time either.....stuff got out of hand and then out of my control as others got involved locally here! PS....you got me pegged though....about as passive aggressive as one can get! Part of the job.....just not a trait that needs to be applied here. Heres to keepin it to the "right side of the road"!

What I find amusing is you've posted in all of your old threads 2nd-ing that whatever mod is being discussed is wonderful. Maybe I'm one of the few, but I always liked the old you...oh well...welcome back and thanks for offering up scans of the manual!

I did that to get them back into my subscription/notification loops....I didnt figure it would take long to figure it out (hense...the postings on the old SN from the newer one).....I think I am the only one here from Indy to start with (same age, ect)? Ohio is the closest I have seen to me!

Workin on that though.....surely we can draw some more Indy people here this coming year!

Hi there
Tried to PM you but don’t have enough posts to do it.
But I really need the instructions (from service manual) on How to Remove Instrument Panel
and Change passenger airbag.

Sources for 04-05 TL manuals

OEM service manuals turn up on eBay every so often.

I emailed Tim at http://stores.ebay.com/Manuals-n-More . He did a search and said he could get one for $100. I thought that was worth it, but I was still curious.

So I did a search and landed a slightly used one for under $70 from Faxon Auto Literature. www.faxonautolit.com Can't say enough good about them. I asked about the manual before bidding to make sure it was the real deal. It certainly is. Came extremely well packed, only $5 for shipping.

Once enough manuals are out there, there will be enough around to "cover" those without who are near enough to borrow.

Good luck!

American Honda sells all of their manuals through http://www.helminc.com

2004-2006 TL Service manual goes for $75.00 (excluding s/h)

Good looking out Snakehead - that site came up in my Google search at the time as well, but I forgot about them because I had already decided on the used one.

For others who are interested, here's the direct link:

http://www.helminc.com/helm/Result.a...86VKTE8PCR7SW2

One positive of the helminc site and drawback to the manual I received is that Helm lists the various manuals available for you to choose from. Having ordered elsewhere, I received the correct one (04-05) for my 04 TL, but it does cover TPMS (tire pressure monitoring) which is one of the upgrades I am considering. Had I known, for a few buck more, I could have purchased the 04-06 version now available which I assume would cover this info (which was not yet available as an option when I purchased in 2004).

Others can learn by my mistake. Guess I'll pick up the supplemement at some point.

Wrench on!
Robb

PS- On a slightly unrelated note (for 3rd GEN non-Honda products): I find their prices in general to be way high-- $50 for a 30-day subscription to view online for example is more than double the AlldataDIY.com ANNUAL subscription last I subscribed.

I've (only) come to FAXON and HELM because Acura has not released their third generation TL manuals to ALLDATADIY (Autozone) to last I checked.
