How do I remove the bezel thats around the shift leaver. I need to clean under it .. spilled pop .. also whats the little plug for in the pix and how is it removed?

 

The little plug is the shift-lock release, so if you need to get the car out of park and it wont start, you remove that plug and stick your key in the slot, then you can move the shiftlever without the car running.

As for the shifter bezel, you will most likely need to remove the entire center console as it is probably fixed, and the center console sits around it.


edit: the bezel around the shifter, with the plug in it, should snap out, then the console sits over the acutal shifter bezel with the markings on it. Thats how it was on the 2G tl's!

Hope that helps. Just be careful removing the outer bezel. It's fragile.
