Need Help Securing Type S Spoiler

i had some dipshit take my spoiler off my tl and prior to that they used automotive adhesive to secure it onto my trunk... well that failed

well lucky for me i found another one for $150.

ok i found the bolts clips and etc
27, 31, 4, 26

so my thing is theres 7 holes in the spoiler and the diagram is confusing me.. whoever done this before point me to the right direction please... and thanks

whats so confusing about it? I just installed my decklid spoiler couple hours ago. it was super easy. theres 2 threaded bolts(#4), 2 clips(#31), and 3 white stick things(#27). this adds up to 7 attachments to the spoiler.
The 2 bolts have 8mm nuts(#26) that attach from inside the trunk, the 2 clips pop into the 2 holes on the trunk, and the 3 white stick things line up into the 3 yellow grommet things

and factory uses 4 strips of small double sided tape, less than 1" in size. If you look carefully on the spoiler you will see the markings to place the tape. there is absolutely no need to use adhesives and excessive tape if you use all the factory clips and bolts. with the bolts in place, you would have to break the spoiler before taking it off

Ahh I see. I do recommend drilling the holes so it mounts like factory.

OP this is something you are going to have to measure and create your own template. I made mines out of cardboard and I only drilled where the bolts go (trunk end). The rest are clips IIRC so I didnt bother with that. I use the arcylic 3M doublesided tape and super bond adhesive on the nuts where I tighten to the bolts.
Oh sorry that some faggot decided to take what doesnt belong to him

Turbo - If your car came with the A-spec package from the factory at the time of purchase; there was the option of having a deck lip spoiler or wing attach to the trunk. If so, then you should have the holes in place.

I ordered the extra 5 studs and nuts to replace the white and green clips. You will need to widen some of the holes to place the studs in though. I haven't had time to install it yet plus I'm scared to start drilling into my trunk lid. May just bring it to the body shop and have them do it.

^ This is coming from the guru guy of headlights BS you can do it.
Hey I made an extra hole because I was off by 1mm. Guess what no worries as I just bondo and dab some paint on it and the spoiler ninja the rest. I have no plans on removing it.

Turbo I also forgot to mention. You can check if you pull back the trunk lining and locate the bolts and clips.

Sadly its been pretty common on trunk and roof spoilers to be stolen.

I'm surprised they haven't taken mine yet but i don't have the type-s one. I have the M3's trunk lip spoiler thieves stay away from it since it's very very difficult to take off

Look from inside the trunk, behind the liner. If there are bolts and nuts used, you will see them.
