Need Help!! Getting New Brake Pads!!!

hi guys i need some input. i know nothing about cars. I have a 06 acura tl
I need to change my front brake pads and my friend recommended this below from his cousin's shop.
80 for the front ebc green stuff
powerslot rotor front is 90 each

Should I get the same brand for the rotor and brake pads? I read somewhere ebc green stuff is not good. What would you guys get?

whats your driving style and braking needs- whats your budget?

RacingBrake.com (vendor here is MrHeelToe) makes an awesome pad in the ET300 for street casual with some fun times, and ET500 for max fun all the time--they have more bite on application
Their matched rotors rock too, made to work with their pads- about $350 for a set of 2 rotors ands 4 pads that will last a long time, the rotors are good for 3-4 sets of pads too- thats 80-100kmiles on rotors that dont warp!

EBC green are good but there are other choices

Do a seach for `which brakes` and there are recent threads with the top 10 choices in use today
Autozone makes decent enough to get around on, kragen has some performance stuff-- but for the price, I would get RBs, had them on my 01 for 2+ years and its great

I dont have a budget, I only do reg driving in nyc. is it bad to mismatch a name brand pad with a diff name brand rotor? I was thinking ebc red stuff and rotora rotors after some searching on acurazine.

Alan,

There's a bazillion reviews/opinions on this forum about best pads, best rotors, best pad/rotor combinations. Rather than have everyone rehash their inputs on a subject that has been discussed many times over, my suggestion to you is do a search. You'll find enough brake threads to keep you reading for days.

In addition, there are several DIYs on rotor/pad change in the Garage.
