Need Help with Color!
Going to be purchasing an 05 TL soon andI really wanted the White Diamond Pearl. However, having 2 very young children I really want the Camel interior and it's not available on it. I like the darker leather over the Parchment. My other choice is the Deep Green Pearl with Camel interior. Does anyone have that combo with any pics? The dealer near me doesn't have one on the lot right now for me to check out.
Thanks!
Thanks!
How much clean-up do you want to do after the kids are in the car? If you want the interior to keep looking clean with the least amount of effort, go with Quartz.
You'll be constantly cleaning the Camel/Parchment because they are light.
The Ebony will show every spot of dirt (especially dried mud at the bottom of the door) and dust.
Quartz (which I have) seems to blend the best and IMO will require the least amount of time and care.
Now, for the Exterior -- I have Silver and love it -- shows very little dirt, is easy to clean and looks pretty sharp even when it does have some dirt. Diamond Pearl White is a pain to clean, and Ebony/Anthracite look great until they get a little dirt. Ditto for Abyss (Blue), Redondo Red and Deep Green Pearl. The Desert Mist is always a good choice for low time to keep looking clean -- but I'm sure you can't get (or would even want) a Desert Mist exterior with Quartz interior.
Good luck on your selection.

Don't know about CL or RL. I really do like the Camel interior and since it is a bit darker than the Parchment, I should be ok. I have a tan interior in my current car, just want something a bit darker and like the Camel. I have seen a couple pics of the Deep Green Pearl with Camel...sharpe looking combo from what I saw. Leaning towards that I think. I do like the silver, but just too many of those on the road around where I live...want something a bit different.
when you buy this car, don't think about the kids. cleaning is cleaning no matter what color combo. get something you like and you want. don't settle for "easy car to clean ". and then make the kids clean them. gotta start them off early.

Someone mentioned it above...the anthracite (dark silver or "gunmetal" color)...seems like a good alternative, no?
According to PhilB, you can order any combonation as long as you are willing to wait a couple months for the order to be placed and the car to be built. But its worth the wait to get exactly what you want.

I have three vehicles with three out of the four different interior colors we are talking about here. I have Camel in the TL and LOVE it but I sure wouldn't kid myself into thinking it hides dirt or grime any better than parchment. I have parchment in the Accord and the seats need plenty of love, just like Camel. Now my Montero has black interior and hides grime on the seats much better. You just have to vaccuum the floor mats quite a bit because that's where the dirt shows. Quartz should be similar to ebony, just lighter. Good luck, I hope this helps!

The green is a nice color .. rare and definitely on the luxury side of "luxury sport"
Get the color you like .. it's your car
I Have White Diamond Pearl With Quartz And I Drive Around My Brother Kids Plus I Also Have All Seasons Matts That Help Keep The Car Clean Keep Cleaning Wipes With You In The Car And You Shouldnt Have A Problem Now With The Parchment I Think It Would Get More Dirty Then The Quartz I Like The Camel Too But It Didnt Come In Wdp Very Happy With Quartz Ebony Would Of Been Nice Too Its More Sporty Quartz You Will Be Very Happy With Quartz And Dont Get Green Ewwwww Sorry Out There For People Who Have Green I Never Even Saw A Green Tl Around By Me Tl Is A Mint Car =)
There are pics of DGP/Camel in the pictures section.
I have that combo, and love it - I think it is the most underrated of all the TL colors.
1) It is chameleon like - changes color subtly depending on time of day, season, etc. Always a nice shade though.
2) I get tons of compliments
3) It is a (British) Jaguar-like green - had a few folks ask me "is that a new Jaguar?"
4) The green matches the green window tint - this has not been mentioned that i have seen, but from a distance gives the car a very "one piece of an ingot" look
5) It is distinctive while retaining the good lines of the car - unlike previous TL's and most Hondas, which almost always look better in light metallics, the TL looks great in darker colors. The DGP is dark enough to show the nice lines, but is set apart from the usual silvers, anthacites, etc.
6) The camel is cool in the summer, but has an inviting warmth of color in the winter to be inviting - like a new baseball glove. It is not as orangey as some have squawked about.
7) Do not get the door edge guards or the side moldings. The edge guards break up the clean sight lines, and the moldings look to me like they were glued on after having been gouged out from the stylish "character line" that runs along the upper sides (concave line that the side markers and door handles align to).
Mine has polished and thens hined up nicely, and I have no water spots. I use 3M Imperial Machine Glaze followed by 3M Perfect-It Show Car Paste Wax. (read my review of that product in Wash & Wax).

Don't worry about what combo is easiest to clean. Get whatever you think looks the best. My last car was a gold Honda Accord with the parchment interior. I've never had a problem keeping an interior clean, but the exterior has always been hard cause I would always get dark colors. That's when I decided to get a gold car. It was certainly easy to keep clean. But anytime I drove around and saw the same car in black, I kept thinking I should've gotten black cause the Accord looked best in black. It also didn't help that there were tons of other gold Accords on the road. When I got my TL, I decided not to worry about the 'easy to clean' factor and just got the combo that I knew I'd love. Of all the exteriors, NBP looks the best and of all the interiors, parchment looks the best. So that's the combo I got. The exterior is hard to keep clean and the floor mats are hard to keep clean, but the combo looks better than any other. I'm glad I got this cause I know if I got something easier like Silver/Quartz, I'd regret it anytime I saw a NBP TL on the road. Now when I see other TLs, I feel good cause I don't feel like someone else got a better color than me.
It's never enough!

If you can get one, the Anthricite with Camel would fit your needs. I wanted that combo, but they are very rare. Only a few came through the dealership where I bought my TL during the first year of 3rd Gen production.
I settled on Quartz, and I like it just fine. I kinda like the "carbon fiber" accents. They go well with the silver of the aluminum and the Quartz seats.
my 2 cents

if u like the white diamond pearl you should get it.. if you have 2 young children you shouldnt get a parchment maybe a quartz its a pretty nice combo.. and plus its easier to clean spills on quartz
I have a Deep Green Pearl with Camel. I originally planned to get anthracite and ebony, mainly for the "keeping it clean" factor.
However, a DGP / camel was on the lot when I was looking at the Anthracite / Camel that I was considering purchasing. Despite knowing the Anthracite / Camel was a rare combo, I found myself liking the DGP more. I live in the SF bay area and although they aren't as common as BMW's, there are a good number of 3rd gen TL's on the road. However, I'd only seen one DGP on the road and I remember it turned my head. I like how the green tone of the paint varies in the light, and the Camel and wood interior combined with the Green exterior do give it a more luxury and less sporty feel. Ebony is defintely a more sporty interior. Since my wife uses the car for real estate, the luxury feel was good for us.
I'm real glad we went with the DGP... if you are dilligent with keeping the vehicle tidy and you put the effort in to but a few coats of Zaino on the paint, you'll find it has a jewel like effect in the sun. At the end of the day though, worry less about what is easy to clean and more about what you will enjoy.
And of course, if you can afford it, get the nav. Well worth the extra cost.

I also agree w/ the above statement. I had a black interior in my Jetta and I didn't have to do much to keep it clean but the TL is more of a luxury type car and that's why I wanted a lighter color. However, I have 3 kids under the age of 7 and dirty shoes touching the front seat-backs is the norm! Considered the ebony interior but, as I mentioned, I really wanted the luxury look of the parchment (or camel).
so... I went w/ what I liked w/o worrying about cleaning up the kids mess. I am extremely happy w/ my choice. And that's what really matters when you buy an expensive car like this for yourself - You gotta be happy w/ it!!
btw, when the kids really have some dirty shoes on, I make them take their shoes off!

Heard that you could special order any color combination?
I don't know if this is true, but you might just contact Acura to see if they will build the color combination you desire.

I have had both black leather and "quartz" leather in vehicles over the past few years. I have a 2000 VW GTi and 1996 Mustang Cobra Mystic with black leather and a 1997 Taurus SHO with "quartz" leather. As for the seating surfaces, black is hands down much better at hiding dirt/stains. The quartz, and other lighter colors, will look good for the first couple of years. The cars that I have in black leather still look great. Even after some years of use on them. My "quartz" leather vehicle doesn't look so hot now. The leather is still in good shape it is just that every little smudge and crease tends to make it look more aged. Also, in that vehicle the steering wheel is the same color leather. Sweat and dirt from my hands make it change color very quickly. I have to clean it often.
After having both of these types of leather for a few years, without hesitation I decided on going with the ebony interior. Although I loved the ABP, I ended up going with NBP since I didn't want to wait a few months to order an ABP with ebony.
