I own a 2007 TL-S kinetic blue pearl and been think about swapping my front grill for a base TL grill. Has anyone done it and also in a blue type-s? Pics??? want to make sure I like it before I decide to post my grill for even trade here...

I don't think this has been done. The Type S is the only one that comes in KBP, so the Base TL's don't have that color. So if you got a Base TL grill, it would have to be painted.

Plus, the Type S grill is a better look anyway, in my opinion.

 

Well am not a big fan of chrome. So I want to get the base tl grill which is silver. Why would I need to get it painted? That's the main reason why I would like to see if anyone has put the base tl grill on a kbp type s since they don't come in base tl.

 

just plastidip your current grill ... so it wont be chrome, itll be cheaper, and reversible if u decide to go back to the chrome look

 

Ill second the Plasti dip idea, The Base grills are just a flat silver color, pretty bland IMO, but if its something you really want to do I don't see why you couldn't swap all the chrome pices and cross bar out for the base ones. I bet you could easily find someone here to trade you.

 

The silver on KBP won't look good at all. The KBP + Chrome combo is stunning and adds a certain pop to the whole front end. If anything, I'd black it out before going to silver.

You can buy the silver pieces from the dealer and put them on. The Front bumper will need to come off to replace the center bar and the surround on the buttom. The top one clips onto the engine hood.

The main reason why I want to get the base tl grill is bc I'm not a fan of chrome. An to be honest I never notice that the type s grill was chrome opposite to silver on the base tl. The more I look at it the more I like the silver better.

Not a big fan of the black out grill.
