Need Bike rack

Hey 3G TL owners, I am in market for a trunk bike rack that I could easily mount-on weekends and un-mount when I am not using it (weekdays)

Any bike riders here that can point me in right direction?

I'd say go the route of a trailer hitch setup. You can get one that bolts to the undercarriage for under $100. The trunk mount type can cause damage to the rear of the car

Marc, that would be another option.. albeit would ruin the under body clean look
ggesq, interesting, you have link for it with rack option that you utilize? Assuming this installed in the tow hook underneath..

Sorry man, I don't. I had a local shop install it for me. I know it's a Drawtite. I have the Thule Parkway rack. I also had to buy a 2" adapter since the hitch has a 1 1/4 receiver and the rack has a 2" receiver opening.

I don't have one on my 3G but do on my 2G TL and I don't think it is all that noticeable. It does attach to the tow hook but also requires a couple of holes drilled into the trunk pan. I use a Thule two bike rack on it. I don't think I'd go with more than two bikes

I use a Saris Bones 3 on my previous car but agree that I wouldn't put it on my TL and ruin the paint. but if you must, the Saris is a great rack

I have a Saris Bones (purchased years ago for previous car) that I have used "once" on my TL....never again. That was two years ago and I can still see the marks on my trunk from where it was sitting.

Now I just swap cars with the wife and use the hitch mounted rack on her car.

I completely agree with others...if you are going to carry a bike further than the nearest bike repair shop, get a hitch mounted rack. If my wife's vehicle didn't have a hitch already, I would have gotten once installed on my TL years ago.

It will work, but it will damage the paint over time. Watch your pedals as well....they may hit your bumper if not careful....I am not sure exactly how this specific model will fit the TL....I have the Bones-3 and if I wasn't careful, the pedals would touch the bumper.
