Need Advice
I currently have an 04 A-Spec 6MT with 96,000 miles. Just had new brakes, timing belt and water pump replaced last month. Love my Acura and will not drive anything else, but also do not like anything after '08. Acura dealer here has an '07 Type S with 66,000 miles 6MT that I want. They are asking 22,800 which seems way high. Problem is they are so damn hard to find with a MT that i am thinking about biting the bullet. Any thoughts????
Thanks in advance for your input

They're asking for 22,800 after trade in? If you do end up trading your car, be sure to take off your A-Spec badge. I heard that in a few decades, it'll be worth more than the car itself.

Price does seem a little high. I paid $2,500 more than that, but with only 17k and certified. Granted mine is an auto which is a bit easier to find. If you could get them closer to $20k, I'd say go for it!
And the above is right, pull off that badge before you trade in!

You are going to pay roughly $14000 after trade in to get essentially the same car (OK, some differences in that it's a Type S).
As for yours, how does it run and look? If it still appeals to you despite the mileage, I'd say hold on to what you have. You did the 105k service on it, so it should be good to go for quite a while (just my opinion of course).
The price on the Type-S, albeit OK, puts you back in a car where you don't know the maintenance history or how it was or wasn't abused, plus the cost of the change in cars whether or not you finance. Then in 30-40 K miles or so, you will have to do the 105K service again on the Type-S. I would change my opinion if the Type-S had really low mileage, but it doesn't.
If you trade up, whoever gets your 04 gets what sounds like a really nice car with the 105K service done and gets a decent buy on it.
Keep what you have, appreciate it (maybe throw a mod in it to keep your interest- Type-S rear lights for example), drive it into the ground, then get another car. I'm kind of buy and hold type of car buyer, and for me, the only reason to get rid of a car would be that putting more money into it doesn't make sense because it's too likely to break down. It's the old wants vs needs argument.

the price on that Type S sound just right to me, however I wouldn't do it since you won't get much more performance out of Type S.

Personally, I think it is a tad high?
