NAVI way off this weekend
NAVI way off this weekend
By any chance, was anyone having any trouble with NAVI this weekend? I was in Wilmington NC this weekend and the NAVI system was way off.
I was traveling down a road that has existed for some time now, and the NAVI was not showing me as traveling on the road. Instead of showing me as traveling on the road, it was placing my car about an inch beside the road. As I drove around town, there were several times where the NAVI would show me as 'off road'. Very odd.
Also, as I drove by the one and only Acura Dealership in Wilmington, the NAVI was a block or 2 off. It also happened when I typed in the address of a restraunt, I pass the restraunt while driving and the NAVI said I still had another block to go.
Very odd weekend, I've never had it be off so much.
* Oh, it's happened once in Raleigh, NC. I typed in a particular address and it was also a block off. Should we report these?

check your navi manual there is a reset procedure to adjust the navi if it becomes very inaccurate. the gps is designed to be a little inaccurate due to regulations from the department of defense. but if it is really off you should try to re-adjust the navi.

I used my navi over the weekend but noticed no unsual errors in indicated position. My navi consistently indicates my car slightly behind my actual position, ie, main screen indicates still approaching an intersection that I've already passed, though the split screen for next turn with hundred foot measurements appears accurate.
Every so often, I get a lateral shift in indicated position also, so I think I know what you're referring to. In my experience, that glitch has always self-corrected after a few minutes with no intervention on my part.
