Nav system reboot?

Has anyone experienced a spontaneous reboot of the Nav system? This happened to me twice on my trip back home from N.J. to N.Y. It hadn't happened before, but on this trip it happened twice within about 2 minutes. My destination was still logged in bit I had to go into the menu to tell it to resume the guidance. Weird.

I've never had that problem. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Never happened to me, but I've only had my TL for a few weeks.

Reboot happens all the time.

I get a message that says "DVD error....see dealer for assistance"...something like that.

It will reboot then work normally, or...reboot and post the same error message. I have to turn the ignition off and restart the car, then it usually works ok.

Its a pain!!!

How often do they release a new DVD ROM for these Navi systems? I want to go to the dealer and get the upgrade if it is available...(and since mine is messed up) - I hope its not the system itself...

I haven't had a reboot but I have had the whole system lockup with the only way to unlock it was to turn the ignition off then on again. I tracked it down to the navi system being picky about when you hit the joystick button to get past the legal crap at bootup. If I hit OK right when it comes up I get the lockup but if I wait about 10 sec. longer it comes up fine.

hey... this just happened to me the other day... I had my radio volume set loudly, and then when I started the car, it gave the error. I waited, restarted the engine (after lowering the volume) and it started up fine.

But, I was wondering, did you go to the dealer? was there a real problem?

No, I have not had it checked out at the dealer. It does not happen that much, but when it does it really pisses me off. I have to take it in to correct this (probably just needs an updated DVD...
