Anyway, I know this is a really old thread, but a perfect solution to the problem is get a 6mt!! My wife wants nothing to do with my car and freaks out if I even just mention letting her try to drive stick.
I wonder why this guys wife drives his car soo much, he even said she has her own car. Weird.

Drifting
My Wife has driven my car maybe 3 times in the 5+ years of ownership- it always happens when I need our Pilot for something like camping or hauling something. Our Pilot has those 'mystery' scratches and slight curbage on the wheels along with the crumbs from granola bars that she seems to like to eat in there.
I guess I have learned to bite my tongue each time I drive the Pilot and am glad that crap doesn't happen to my car. Although, she did manage to drop a ladder on my car in November- thank God for PDR! You can see the photos here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ght=PDR&page=2 Post #80

The last time my wife drove my TL she ran over a box of nails in a Home Depot parking lot and swiss cheesed up 2 tires. Instead of getting mad at her, I bust her chops about it now and then. Hopefully your wife is not a member on here.......

I would rather have something happen to the car than something happen to a significant other. A car can be fixed and replaced.

I like that the OP was thanked 4 times today lol.
My GF is too scared to drive my TL. I tell her not to worry but she won't drive it.
The last time she drove it was about a year ago and asked me what was wrong with my brakes. I asked her what she meant and she said when she stopped they made this juttering sound. I was like you mean ABS and she said no. After a little interrigation I found out she was messing with the stereo and looked up and traffic was stopped so she hit the brakes hard enough for ABS to kick in. In the 6 years I've been driving this car, only once have I used ABS on accident especially with the very sticky tires it rides on.
I also ended up with some weird scratches to the plastic on the bottom front of the seat. I can only imagine it's from her heels.
I had a previous GF back it out of the garage with the door open and hit the door on the frame of the house. Luckily it did no damage.
I had one key the car when it was 2 months old back in February of '06. She spent the night in jail, I got a restraining order on her, got her fired since I was good friends with her boss, then less than a week later she totaled her '05 TL, broke both of her legs, thought they were going to amputate one, the TL burned to the ground, she had burns on her face, and no insurance. Once she finally got out of the hospital she was arrested for DUI and had to finish paying off a car she no longer owned. It was karma at it's best.

i wouldn't call your wife an idiot, rather a female. It seems to me almost all women drivers drive like shit one way or the other. My wife has a ton of accidents, all little fender benders and BS tickets, so she's very questionable at times behind the wheel. Also she never drives my TL unless she has to. Plus she has her own car.
heres the solution to any mans women problems.....buy her a car....problem solved.
