Yes he is. On a road course, the S2K will keep/beat a vette. The straights are a gimme for the vette, but the twisties the S can keep more speed in and out.
At my track day with the S, 1 vette was way behind, the other was close to me but a bit behind.

^ If it's at a track day, obviously a driver mod helps. Track days aren't exactly filled with professional race car drivers.

I think the Corvette would hold it's on against the Honda S2000 having a proper driver. Granted the weight advantage of the S2000, the shear power advantage and similar braking distances of the Corvette would make things interesting .. I think it would be pretty close ?

 

But... after I beat the Geo Metro, I parked and lurked around next to my local Cougar hangout bar.

Both Vettes were C6. Drivers have a ton to do with it. But for 50% the the cost and 50% the power with 75% the weight, the S@k not only wins on the track, but on the books.

Sorry OP. Unless you are dragging a FI S2K with equivalent HP, it is not a race. Stock/Stock the S hangs and wins the road track.
