Thumbs up My first post...and who was that driving in RI?

Hello everyone..this is my first post but I have been reading for a while since I decided that I wanted a TL but havent had too much to post since I dont have it yet..I am one of the few females on the board..I have been looking for a TL for a little bit now and test drove one last weekend. Looking to get a used 05+.

Anyway the main point of my post was to ask who I saw driving this morning in Rhode Island from 295 to 95 to route 4 through warwick to exeter I guess? Around 8:20am..Whoever it was had a SSM third gen of course with smoked tails and side markers, debadged in the back except for Acura logo and non stock rims. Oh and A spec body kit.. It was pretty much the nicest car I have seen around here

Just wanted to say hi and see who I saw driving..will post pics as soon as i get a TL..hopefully soon!

Oh and for people around RI..does inskip do anything with the switchblade keys as far as cutting and programming..?

Hi Angela...........I had my key cut at City Lock (Elmwood Ave) and the immobilizer programmed at First Acura........

I don't know about Inskip but First Acura is already familiar with the mod.....

(Cranston here.......06 ASM TL)

It was $95.00 to have them programmed - I went to the dealer to do it because of my auto start. They have to program ALL your keys at the same time

I'm looking to get into a 06 Wdp w/navi perfer dark interior and used with low miles. What is the Key immobilizer? and y do you need to get it programmed? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I'm rolling in a 2nd gen TL. I want to get familiar with everything that needs to be done to the 3rd gen so when I'm ready to purchase I can know what is what.

What you should also keep in mind Angela is that an NBP with ebony interior is a beautiful sight to behold...probably much like yourself! Nice things come in twos right? So double yourself up with a nice looking NBP!

Here, let me give you a lil help so you can "pick a winna" like me!

so we are all thinking it (i hope), so im just gonna go head and ask it... are you as hot as the TL? lol... there arent TOO many females on this board... and having a TL gives you a 20% lead advantage than girls w/o TLs...

thats a rule.

well. I'll tell you why I picked WDP, and it wasnt just because its the hottest color out there and the girls love it. When I was trying to decide what color I wanted, it was dark out and the main color I noticed in the lot was the white which sorta popped out at me. I could see all the details and lines on the car, whereas most of the other colors sorta blended in. I also considered that from a safety perspective, I also think that white cars get into the fewest accidents because they are more noticable out of the corner of your eye, and especially at night.

I will warn you though, some of the drawbacks of white are the following:

need to pay careful attention to paint matching on the rear bumper vs body to make sure they match.
scratches into the plastic pieces will be more noticeable cause they'll be black
It's made me anal keeping this car spotless and shiny. She's gotta be shiny!

my thing is, white cars, by themselves, arent hot at all... but for cars like yours, leedog... that is hott, because you made it that way. whats nice about a NBP is that even if its not modded, it still looks good... but hey - thats just my thinking.... to each his own

2nd gen TL's have immobilizers too. it's a little chip in the key that tells the immobilizer that it is the right key and to let the car start. it's an anti-theft device. you have to get the dealer to program the new key when you get it.
