Doubt the vehicle would be a total loss.

You're looking at 5k-10k worth of damages depending on your location and shop used. Insurance company should pay for most of it (minus deductible) and you should be fine.

I would move out the neighborhood if you can, because this is going to happen again and again (or find out who it is and report them).

Reminds me of a old friend that threw eggs and paint stripper on my TSX awhile back. Lets just say he regretted that forever.

Dude said it was 10k in damage, give or take 2-5% supplement and 4-5k salvage value = total loss. Depending on options, year and mileage of course...

for a OEM or better quality paint job, it's going to cost more then that

and even then the paint will have to be completely stripped down to bare metal, which is even more labor (and not just painted over)

also OP, at least it will be dent free afterward

Man that's gotta hurt. Hope you get her back to tip top shape soon. Once you get her back to normal, you should set up a camera in front of your house directed at the car just for precaution.

Not to be an ass but there is a large price difference in doing it right and getting a complete Macco job for 5k. Evey molding, handle, and glass will have to be taken off, most likely all the panels pulled off and jambs re done (if it dripped into them). For a quality shop and to do it up to insurance standards your looking at 10k easy! My MDX was a complete key and it was 9500.00 and that with only .5-1 hr repair per panel... this will be more like 2-4 hrs each panel.

Holy crap. Agree on the woman theory. It very well could have been a guy, but no guy with any sort of decency or pride. Women on the other hand; they have no boundries.

Wow bud. I'm sorry. That literally made me cringe through every shot.

The car is a loss.

Grab yourself a nice, used TL-S now, and park it far, far away from that neighborhood.

ok then... cheap paint then... (paint is a fairly large part of a paint job, it's not cheap, especially by the time you add all the different things you need; primer, hardener, paint, clear, etc.,etc.)

in some area's its down to the metal! It's eaten through the Anti-Rust coating, the primer, and the paint. The whole panel will need to be stripped down, then the anti-rust stuff applied, then the primer and paint. It's not going to be a easy fix and will cost quite a bit.

Also comptechtl is right, all of the trim will need to be taken off in order to pain everything properly and fix door-jambs and other areas properly.

Actually paint isn't all that expensive. You can get the best paint out there for a fair price, it's the labor that's a bitch.

still talking a couple grand worth of supplies though (something like PPG paint), but yes labor is the main thing though

let's see...

$200 for a gallon of clear coat, plus about $20 worth of reducer http://www.tcpglobal.com/kustomshop/...PPG+DCU2021-GL
and lets say 2 gallons for the car (to make sure to not run out mid-job [and at least 2-3 coats], and it actually might be more or a little less too, not 100% sure), theres $440

now lets look at primer http://www.tcpglobal.com/kustomshop/...=PPG+DP40LF-GL
again need 2 gallons at least (for multiple coats), (might also need some reducer too, depending on how much is left from the clear "estimate"), that's $165 per gallon, so that's $330 for primer

so $770 so far...

plus say $100 for tape/paper (remember you are basically painting the car 3 times, primer, color, clear)

, then also lets add in all the additional paint stripper, or grinding discs needed to strip the old paint off

so as you see material costs add up real fast, and run into the $1000's (and the paint/primer/clear is a huge chunk of that; btw i can't seem to find a reliable price for the paint itself, so i did not add that in )

edit: i can look up some House of Kolor prices if you like also..., and have the material cost be even more then it is just for standard PPG paint costs
