my back bumper

I just bumped into a fire hydrant and caused a dimpled the size of a mellon with a puncture. Does anyone know how much I should expect to pay in repairs? I don't want to report this to my insurance since this will be the third accident within three years. If you are in the Northern VA area, can you recommend me a body repair place that will make my car look like showroom new? Going insane right now. My baby is hurt.

I have the same problem. someone hit my bumper, not once, but twice. Luckily, I waited to get it repaired. Unfortunately, I was told that the crease couldn't be repaired and a replacement bumper was needed. Cost: $1000.

But, ...

Ronjon is building a full body kit that uses the stock mounting points, so you can install it yourself, and comes prepped and painted in stock colors. Cost: $480, plus shipping.

I have the same problem, except i was lucky enough to have some other dumb ass do the damage instead of me (ran into me at a drivethrough window) so Im getting his insurance to cut me a check for the bumper.

Awesome!

Do you know the Ronjon site? And can I realistically do this repair myself and will the paint match the rest of the car as in matching mirror finish etc. I am somewhat handy and not afraid to work on an engine.

He's a vendor on this site. He's still getting up to speed on manufacturing the kit. But if you can wait a few months, it'll be worth it. I'm getting the front and rear bumpers.

Definitely wait if you can and get on Rondog's waiting list for body kits. I have Ronjon Inspyres for wheels and the quality of the product, packaging and customer service are second to none. You want in with this company.

Now, if I could only get some schmuck to smack MY rear bumper.

It might cost $1000 to replace the bumper, but I'd get a second opinion. With no internal damage, it could possibly be just the bumper cover that needs to be replaced and painted, which would cost significantly less. My buddy got a bumper cover for his Max for $240 and painted for another $100.

For the 04-05 Acura TLs I don't think there is such a thing as a bumper cover - it's all one piece, so the bumper is the what he'll need to get replaced.

Someone please correct me if this doesn't sound right, but based on what I've seen in the manuals, etc, there's no cover!

Did you have a yellow WRX sedan? Also if you can get a new bumper I have an awesome painter that does side work. I haven't seen anyone thats been praised more than him for paint work in my life.

To answer the original poster's request for a good body shop, I highly recommend Quality Auto Body on Draper Drive in Fairfax City. 703-591-6090. I've taken three cars there, my father has taken two, and my brother has taken one. (Yeh, bad luck reigns with us, it seems.) We've always been extremely satisfied.

I had 3 bumper covers replaced on my 2g. They all ran about 500 each... Yeah hit and runs and have 500 deductible..

Back bumper

A Dodge Durango rolled into my back bumper & cracked it 3 weeks ago. It was a $750 repair.
