Glad to hear you are ok.

On a different but related note, wait to talk to a lawyer before giving a recorded statement to the insurance company. Just a suggestion.

Well, that's interesting - about the guy getting arrested, etc.

Hopefully the pain in your shoulder is just temporary muscle pain from the impact. You're right to get it checked out, just in case.

As far as the medical deductible, I don't think you have to worry about that. It is 100% not your fault, his insurance should cover everything; you shouldn't have to pay a deductible, he does.

We had something similar happen a year or so ago. Guy ran a red light; just blew right through it - missed us - hit someone else. I was pissed off; could've been me and my wife. He just missed us. I turned around and left my business card with the guy that DID get hit. Told him to call me if the guy gave him any crap about who did what and I'd make a witness statement.

Your car is ok. With the right body shop anything can get fixed as long a your insurance covers it. I had a similar hit and was fixed. At first, you're psychologically messed up thinking that your car isn't the same but truth of the matter is that it probably is or close to it. The most expensive parts are the airbags.

Hmmm, I dont know the laws in the US but here in Canada if you witness an accident it is a felony to leave the scene without making a statement!

I waited 30 mins or so for the cops to show. I left the guy my card and mobile number. Never heard anything back.

I doubt has an APB out on me.

I did sign up with a lawyer this morning and i had already recorded a statement on monday but I made it clear on the statement that i dont have any pain right now but will be going in for a check up. Also recorded that the other guy has accepted his fault. lets see what the deal is

Great dude ... I wish every driver could look out for other troubled drivers as well.

UPDATE : To Keep or To Not .....

So I got myself checked up by doctors and they had to take like 16 different X-rays for some reason of my shoulder and neck from every angle possible and will get the reports on Monday. Shoulder pain and neck has minimized a lot however, during the check up new pain areas were discovered which I had no clue of ...
I hate being in hospitals and around doctors but I guess not any choice right now. Still haven't heard back from the adjustor on the car yet but I did call my sales manager who I bought the car from last year and explained him the situation and what was his advice. What he told me isn't wrong, as he says that the value of the car would go significantly down. 2 weeks ago I owed less on the car than the value and now it will be the opposite. Also, when I trade the car in a few years from now I'm going to get a lower trade in value coz of a major front end accident even though the car was fixed by the dealership. He says the best bet is to try to get it salvaged.

I have been thinking about the whole situation for the last 2 days now. I didn't plan to trade in the car any time soon as I had bought it for long term and specially because of the fact that I had to wait 6 months to find the perfect car. So I don't care about the value part as long as I get my baby back just like it was before the accident. But then a thought came to my mind that coz of this accident would all my factory and Certified Pre Owned extended warranty be void ? What happens if i get the car back on the road and a month or 2 months from now something because of the accident goes bad on the car which I would then not be able to blame on the accident

Next i went online to see if incase I do try to get the car salvaged and walk out... there are not many good 3G-S in the market for the right prices anymore with low mileage ... How would I wait for one to come to South Florida ...

I will have to get in to leasing a 4G TL- ShAwd. or an MDX... I am honestly not a fan of the 4G unless it is the AWD one. But then I was paying $525 (financed) a month on this beauty. Wonder how much the 4GS would cost even if used....

Need advice on what to do

Good luck with all the x-rays, hope they all come back clear. As far as the car goes I would stick with your 3g. The car should be repairable. Not sure how many miles are on yours, as this can make the difference, but $9500 worth of damage should be nowhere near enough to total it out. Yes the overall value will decrease, but you will have a clear title. And any GOOD repair shop should be able to make it look as good as new. Btw I think the 4g's are quite ugly. Just my . Good luck and hope that everything turns out well.

I know. I don't like the 4G either .... Only ones I like are the 4G Sh-awd Blk on Blk with the lipkit on. The dealer's body shop is repairing it and there well known for their stuff. Im concerned about the warranty ... Would all warranties be void ?

That sucks. Hope the X-Rays shows nothing seriously wrong.

If you plan on keeping it then don't worry too much about it because the car is worth more to you that someone else. Otherwise, you're right....it sucks. You are never going to get enough for it when you sell or trade in in.

My recommendation on the car is if you can get it totaled then do it and walk away. It will eliminate the concern of having diminished value and of something breaking down the road. Unfortunately I don't think there is enough damage to get it totaled.

Sorry to hear about your friends OP, but congrats on the upcoming nuptial. Definitely follow-up thoroughly with your physician. Injuries in these type of accidents may not be apparent right away, especially where the back and neck are involved. It could be years before you really feel the effects which can involve severe debilitating nerve pain. I'm surprised they did so many X-Rays.. should have requested for an MRI at that point. Regarding your reaction, you were in shock / ASR.

Hope everything works out. I was in a similar situation, except we t-boned a truck that crossed across us as we were travelling down a busy thoroughfare (our right of way). I cracked the dashboard in half with my head. We probably hit him going 50 mph. I got out with my buddy pretty shaken up and car totaled. The Truck (Tacoma) was flipped on it's side, so we tipped it back over and helped the driver out. He had a suspended license from DUI's and we we're kinda pissed they didn't test him after the accident. I still have a knot on the top of my head from that accident.. nothing gruesome but it's there.

When it was the time... my baby saved my life.... now its my turn ... cant leave her like that ... time to get her back ... I really dont care about resale value as I know Im keeping it for a long time now .... and its being repaired by the dealer so I know its safe !

Sorry to hear about your accident. Thanks for the information. Even though I hate being around doctors I did manage to get completely checked. -rays came back fine and slight neck pain which is going to be fine. More importantly the shoulder and arm pain has reduced a lot thanks God.

Btw I love the quote on your D.P. Can't wait to be able to afford a GTR myself LOL !!!

Take care

Yeah.. GT-R Got behind Xuolu's GT-R.. so sweet and well composed.

The accident was more than 15 years ago. Doing fine.. so no complaints. But my buddy who was driving and wearing his seatbelt has been suffering neck pain. I have a thick head.. what can I say.

I hope you don't have any lingering effects from the accident as well. Keep us updated.
