My Baby's Birth Certificate (AKA Build Sheet)
There have been a couple of posts recently about build sheets and production dates and I thought I would post a pic of mine since I couldn't find any when I did a search.
The sheet was white (I've also seen yellow), 11"X17', and I rescued it from the passenger floor before the car was prepped.
Interestingly:
- the interior color that we know as camel is called tan at the factory
- production date is embedded into the production number in the lower right corner
- model year is 04M - Does this mean there were model years 04A-04L before this that had quirks that were fixed mid-production cycle?
- Model type is the scheduled delivery date (mine was actually delivered 8/31)
- Vehicles are built in lots of 60 - perhaps same allocation or interior/exterior color or same options?

I also "rescued" another production sheet Labeled "Instrument Panel Assy". This sheet is yellow and 8.5" X 11".
It turns out my baby had a "birth defect" - a broken connector at the factory that was replaced.

Why do we always block out the VIN and license plate numbers when we post pics? These are all visible to anyone on the street and we don't tape up our license plate or windshield VINs when we're driving around...

I have some small corrections to your conclusions...
The Production Number at the bottom right is when your TL was originally scheduled to be produced. The actual Birth Date (Month, day, year, hour, minute, and second) is in the small print at the upper right.
The "4 SEP" Model is not the scheduled delivery date; it is the Accura Model Code for a US Acura TL.
The "Model Year 04M" is the same as on my April build sheet.
Yes, "30/60" means that they were building 60 of that combination tranny/Navi color and yours was the 30th one of that series. Mine (NBP) was 7th of 18.
Other than date, sequence number, and exterior color code, your build sheet is the same as mine. Of particular interest is that the ECU is the same. No changes from April to August. My build no. is 42,000.
BTW: my sheet is yellow but mine was also "born" on Prod. Line #1 so I guess that means they are brothers.
