my 2cents on clear corners

I'm not too much into modifying cars, but wanted to make a little cleaner, so I was going to clear the corners on headlights...

I didn't want the shop to scratch my bumper and miss some pins and bolts, so
i took the bumper off by myself and took the lights out, then took it to the tint shop who said "oh we've done this many times...we'll do it clean and neat".
I got one light back in about an hour, and it looked like shit.. RTV's everywhere, fingerprints inside the chrome part which I had to take the lights separated by myself and tried to clean it up, but won't come off...I had to do everything over..

People, if you do decide to get the lights cleared, take it to reputable shops...

Of course I took the other lights from them even before they were finished..hoping to save at least one light..and NO I didn't pay him nothing, and no way I will..

And for those who think you guys have been through this "immature" stage, you could be 35 and can be driving a dropped civic. It's a "HOBBY", and life for some people. There's no reason for someone to make a derogatory comments on other people.

Ain't no Rice...

There's nothing Rice about making your car look better, cleaner, meaner, or whatever YOU like. If you don't like it, don't do it...

There's nothing wrong with making your car look better. That's your opition to do. As for me, I don't mind the amber so I just leave it. Maybe in time I'll get them cleared out.

HJIN25....please let us know where you got the work done...for some reason I thought that I gave you the contact info for the place Casper and I used...I hope it wasn't them doing a poor job.

If you need a new headlight, I can get 20% off any parts at a local Acura dealer if that helps at all.

Does anyone know the cost of a headlight assembly replacement? I am considering clearing the corners myself (nowadays one of the only ways to truly do it right).

To anyone that has cleared the corners, what level of difficulty would you assign to this project?

thanks vtec for the suggestion, but i used a local shop across my shop. my shop didn't have the heater gun, so after taking the lights out, i had them do it, but obviously bad decision..

anyway, i had to put it apart and seal them myself today. since they messed up some plastic portions, i had to heat them up and tried to mold them into shape.

I had a car wash and sprayed some water over them, but haven't seen any moisture inside yet....

YES I THINK NOWADAYS ONLY WAY TO DO THINGS RIGHT IS TO DO IT YOURSELF.

Honestly, I don't think it was that hard to do it..I just think the shop I used sucked.

Thanks for the replies.

There was a DIY guide in the forum before, you may search for it. But be careful, the temp of ovan and how long to heat it up are teh keys.

For example, https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103174

I think the amber gives the car some "character" and its not a cheap looking amber like you see in older cars.
