To mudguard, or not to mudguard, that is the question...

First of all, do all the 04 TL's come with mudguards, or is this an accessory? I don't have the pertection package, so I know it's not part of that. Anyway, I took mine off and it looks 100% better! I want to know if you guys have taken yours off, I suggest it. Mine are for sale if you know of any need for them.

Its an option on their site, so I would assume its not something thats standard. Depends on what dealer you go to, some pamper you with good service and extras and are just known for going the extra step. For example, my dealer is throwing in wheel locks, trunk tray, floormats, etc etc just for buying the car from them.

It is an option. I was the opposite, I didn't have them, then got them because of the mess on the side of my car. I do agree, it does look better without, but I like the way the car stays cleaner longer.

They look OK on a NBP. You don't even notice them.

NBP is the only color that can carry the mudguards. All of the other colors look horrid with them on!!

They look FINE on any color. They are black amd blend into the tires. I went a week without them and the side of my car was covered in road crap due to the wide tires. Cheap insurance!

I have them on a WDP car as well with no regrets. I would post a pic, but my 10mb allocated webspace is taken up (trying to sell some wheels.) Anyway I'm happy with them and they didn't come standard, I had to pay for them.
Regards,

When I get my SSM, I am putting mud guards on. They look fine. With the TL's wide tires (relative to the fender), I think it is a necessary accessory. You can always take them off. Out here with all the stones on the road, I am sure it would only be a matter of time before a stone kicked up and left a nice scratch on my quarter panel. Clear bra and mud guard are cheap insurance here in the land of trucks and SUVs. Man, I miss the east coast

mud guards are "optional," but here in So Cal the dealers slap em on as soon as they upload them from the truck. you have to pay for the "option" and if you don't want them, they charge you $40 to take them off and leave holes in the body.

so you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. but i'm glad i got them anyway to keep my baby lookin beeyootiful.

That`s crazy! If it states on the window sticker that mudguards are a factory item, THEN charge to have them removed. But to put them on and charge for removal, `I`d love to "talk" that over with my dealer :rocketwho

There are no holes left in the body. The mud guards mount in the original holes, so all you have to do is remove the mud guards and put the fasteners back in the holes and it will be as new.

I've got to admit.... they look very inconspicuous on the NBP. I had been thinking about getting them to protect the paint. How easy are they to install?

Go here and see the installation instructions. They are very easy to install. No drilling or cutting, uses existing holes. http://www.handa-accessories.com/tl.html
