Mudguard help please!

I am taking the mudguards off of my '06 TL, and I was curious if it would fit an 07 Type-S

See, I noticed the back bumper is very different from the 06's, but I think the front will work. Also, it's FWD, so it might be okay when it comes to mudguards in front only; it may look awkward though.

I hope the rear fits.

I got mudguards for my Type-S. From what I've heard, they're different.

doesn't the type-S come with them painted to match the body color standard?? Mine did, or is that part of the "protection package" with wheel locks, rubber mats etc?

I installed the painted splashguards on my '07 TL-S. The ones from the Base TL are DEFINATELY not going to fit beacuse the contour of the side of the factory body kit are compeletly different in the front. (Base is kind of flat at the top, whereas the TL-S is angled downward). Additionally the rear bumper is also different at the wheelwells. In other words they are unique on the Type S and that's why they have a separate part number.

So no, don't even bother trying to get them to fit, you can order a set painted to factory match from dealers, eBay, and all the sponsored AZ providers. I got all four for about $90 (I think) a year ago. They are a very tight fit, no gaps anywhere. I think they look pretty good.

When I had my 06 TL painted, I had the guy paint the splashguards as well. I am going to be leaving my TL at home as I move out, and my girl has an 07 Type-S.... thought it'd be nice to put on the mudguards since both our cars are WDP.

Weird thing is my 08 TL-S came with just front splashguards

It looks awkward I'm either going to get some for the rear or remove the front guards.

Anyone else's TL come with just front splashguards?

I was just thinking how LOW the splasguards would be if I lowered my car. Does anyone have splashguards on their lowered TL???

I bought a set of painted splash guards for my '08 Type S. Another forum member (thanks, Jestzn!) recommended putting a layer of electrical tape under them to protect the paint. He said the guards tend to rub the paint away without protection. My car is black, so the tape that extends out by about 1/16th of an inch is not noticeable.
