Now i did to a few searches on the installation as well as un-installation, but what i'm asking for you guys is, if you do have any

BEFORE and AFTER pics of your cars with mud flaps on and off.

Any help.............

Go to the Photo Gallery and there are tons of threads of SSMs without mud flaps. Just compare those pictures to what your car looks like and make a decision.

I think they look good. Afterall the tires are balck and they compliment them. More importantly they're functional: keeps rocks away from sides of the car and helps to keep dirt off as well. Like the other fellow said there are plenty of pics here already- seek and ye shall find.

Maybe you didn't use enought exclamation points. After all, removing your mud flaps is a problem of epic proportions.

I have mud flaps and I think the car look just as good but more practical. It doesn't taking away any curves and lines ... if anything they make the wheels look bigger which isn't a bad thing if you have stock wheels

What's wrong with this thread? Plenty of TL pics...some with mudflaps and some without...

At least this might hold you over until someone, if anyone, posts BEFORE AND AFTER mudflap photos of their car.

I would personally leave them on. Before I had my kit i thought like you did. I did not like the way they looked. When I took them off It looked great but a few months later after driving on highways etc. I looked at the lower part of my front doors(behind front wheels), their was a lot of small chips which i think would have been avoided if I kept the mud flaps on. Thats just my Opinion.

The mud flaps on the 06 RL are painted so that's an option.

i agree, its just that it looks wierd with them on.

what i was thinking about doing was to take them off and get the 3M protectant put on the side sills.

i appreciate all the links for the TL galleries, but i don't get a really really good idea towards a BEFORE and AFTER.

thanks guys for the replies though.

They look very good if they are painted to match your car. I have a set of painted ones on my car (photo gallery).

Isn't just a couple screws per mud gaurd? Take them off and see if you like it better that way?

I have them on my car but, my car is black so you really don't notice them.

I was thinking about the 3M option too. I think the mudguards only look good on the NBP, Anthracite and the Blue Pearl. Basically, you can't see them!

OK, fine... congratulations!!!!

But seriously, I like the mud flaps on my SSM '05-- they don't take away from the look at all.

Do they really call them "mud flaps"? Did I accidentally enter the TL off roading forum by mistake?

At least Infiniti calls them "splash guards".

"Splash guards" is probably correct-- they came with my TL and weren't named on paperwork as an option. I could have said "the little thingees behind the tires that extend down from the wheel well"!

It comes down to a personal choice, you either like 'em or you don't. Just remember, if you decide to get the underbody kits, you can't use em.
