MPG according to MID?

So what is everyone getting for their MPG reading according to the MID. I am at 18. Also what is the optimum MPG that we should be getting?

Mine always shows around 18 but I am only averaging around 30-35 mpg per tank as well. On highway trips I have had 29mpg...wish I had that everyday. By the way, evey tank I have run through the tank I have calculated my mileage, and every tank my MIOD has been dead on!!!

I get 20-22 with about 70% city driving and 30% highway. I also find that the MID is pretty accurate in terms of MPG estimates.

My MID generally is at 22 to 23 around town and 29 to 31 on freeways. To date I have poured in 106.2 gallons of fuel for 2761 miles which is slightly less than 26 mpg. I'm pretty happy with that.

24-25 mixed normal driving, 30 on the highway on trips.

For an engine as strong as this, I'm pretty impressed with these numbers. In contrast, my truck get 15.5 in every day driving and 17 or so on the highway.

I get 27 - 29 MPG from mostly 90% highway miles. My average speed is between 60 & 70 MPH. Also, I use 91 octane from Chevron.

Just a thought, it might help to indicate 5AT or 6MT. Mine is 5AT. Based on what I've seen for gearing the 5AT will probably get better mileage on the highway. Still breaking in and I am averaging 23 with not much highway driving and the few times I've been there I was often running 80-100mph.

Best tank has been 26.5 mpg and worst 21.5. MUCH better than the G35 I had as a rental for a while. I can't wait until I get about 4,000 miles or so and the motor is broken-in. So far no complaints with mileage and it can only go up.

Wow, well first off i have the 5AT, but is it normal to be getting 18. The bulk of my driving is on the highway during the day when i have to go to school. But yea i do accelerate aggressively sometimes when the light turns green, or accelerate more than necessary to pass a car... so i guess that kinda explains it... Would oil life be an issue in my case aswell ?

People with high MPG, is this just because of your driving habits, or some other factors aswell...

Intox1221- tough to say in your case as I don't ride with you but every car is different. I use the SS and short shift my car but with large throttle openings. This way I get to my intended speed quickly and stay at that speed for as long as I can. Sometimes though it can take me 20 minutes to go 2 miles in the traffic around my house. I think on a trip my TL should get easily over 30. Keep it out of the VTEC area and you should see mileage go up. You still can accelerate pretty well without doing this.

23 mixed city/highway with stop lights. 30 interstate only.

The only way to give an optimum is to know your exact driving habits. The optimum for a person who drives in NYC all the time would be different than the optimum for someone who commutes to work on an interstate, with very little city driving.

22-25 on the city...
29-33 on highway...

I avoid racing as much as possible, and I let go the gas when I'm going downhill on highways.

mileage: 23.500 since Oct 2003.

In my last two fill-ups, 15~16. Cold weather, jammed traffic, and short-distance ride.

the most MPG reading ive ever gotten is 35 on the freeway, pretty cold at night right after i filled up and reset the MID. (this is driving slowly to see what the highest reading i could possibly get.

i average about 20-23 mpg with half city and half highway. (when i try to conserve gas and not floor it like i usually do)

Mine generally shows 24 - 26 mpg depending on the driving I've been doing.

70% hwy, 30% city - 6MT.

- Sprinting around town 19-20 MPG
- Normal driving to work and back etc 30-40% highway 23-26 MPG
- Highway driving depending on speed 29 - 34 MPG

I seem to get better gas mileage when using Chevron 93. When I used Shell VPower I got 29MPG vs Chevron 31MPG, all highway of course.

mileage: 24mpg
average speed: 31mph
miles: >3000 mi.
commute: is part city, part highway
octane: 93

My mileage has increased from about 21 when I first got the car to about 24, I did take it on a long road trip recently though, so that may have skewed things, not sure.

Also, good poll, but I would have included more choices after 21.

MID sez 27 mpg under normal city driving. MID sez 32 mpg in interstate. I'm happy with those numbers. Hell I don't care if it got 12 mpg, I would have purchased it anyway

22 commuting which is 50/50 city/highway. That is constant from week to week commutes. But I get much better. I once was doing 55-60 MPH for 1.5 hours and got 36 MPG. I thought it was odd that you picked such low numbers for your survey!

Mid Mpg

My MID has been right on. 5AT gets 24-26 around town and 28-32 on the highway. Picked up the car in Dallas and drove to San Antonio (260 miles Interstate) . I got about 30 MPG on my very first tank.
