Moved Lcd Screen Down
ACURA TL '05 Non-navi
Hi guys, I moved the OEM LCD screen down to where the compartments used to be by extending the 44 wires. I ran into a problem now... When I turn the ignition key, the LCD screen lights up but there is no display for the AC or RADIO. Can anyone help me dianose this problem? I am so close to gettin everything done. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks!

Since you are extending 44 wires, I would first make sure all the wires are secure and correctly extended. Check connections with a multimeter would be my suggestion.

I have checked the connections and they are all secured. I double-checked the colors of the wires and they are all correct. Is it possible to short it while extending the wires? If so, it should just blow a fuse right? I've checked the fuse box but did not see any fuses blown...

disconnect the plugs from the screen and get your ohm meter out. That's the only way you are going to know for sure if your connections are good. I have actually seen (twice) where the wire was broken inside the insulation...yet the insulation was perfect. If you don't think that won't drive you nuts. Actually had to find the breaks with a tone generator.

Could you please snap some shots of your extension and the connectors and connections where they mate. Is the contact spacing that you are connecting to the .010" industry standard ?
