it wont cause any problems ... but why dont you zip tie it down low near where the foglights are on the mmc 3g? it'll look cleaner IMO

^ very true but too bad im in one of the states that require it -___-

i personally wouldn't use zip ties to mount the plate. there was a guy who posted up info about his plate holder which is what i ended up doing. if you have an AutoZone near you, they sell a License Plate Relocator which is about 10 bucks and it's really easy to install. Just drill 2 holes in upward into the fog grill area and screw the mount in and screw your plate on.

i'll take a pic and post it so you have an idea once i find the time.

Someone also makes a plate relocator to where the tow hook is. I'm not sure on the price or the manufacturer, but it's the best and cleanest that I have seen.

it's called RHO Plate. 70 bucks is the shipped price i think. too high for a plate relocator but it does look clean..

Personally I think it looks like crap. The plate is places way too high.

I'm sure your talking about the lower side grilles. I had mine mounted there in the past. Zip ties worked fine for me. But, I put 2 layers of duck tape on the back of the plate. You don't want anything hard like metal rubbing on the paint. Also I used a plate cover to keep the plate clean/protected.

The last thing i wanna do is poke another hole in the bumper..i already have three from the license plate holder..

Powerflow I taped a few pieces of foam to the back of the plate to prevent any scratches.

heres a pic...let me know what u think

thats why the RHO plate is perfect for relocating the license plate. sure 70 bucks is steep, but its a good inch/inch and a half off the bumper mounted directly on the tow hook thread. smack it hard with anything short of a hammer and it doesnt bend or flex. ive had rocks hit my plate with no issues. the plate doesnt rub, i have my piece of mind, it doesnt block airflow to the bumper and its a whole lot better than the stock location.
