Morimoto or Phillips 85122+
I was going on the TFS website and was thinking about purchasing the Phillips bulbs because my bulbs are getting very weak (can't see that much as much as before). But I came across the Morimoto bulbs and at half the price, it deserved a shot to look at.
Anyone with any experience with them?

The imported Morimoto D2S bulbs are perfect for those looking for a high quality bulb offering similar quality to the high-end Philips at a more reasonable price.
Available in a golden yellow 3000K, an OEM HID colored 4300K, a pure-white 5000K, and with a slight tinge of blue at 6000K.
The bulbs are brand new, in their original factory packaging.
These "D2S" bulbs are compatible with every kind of projector and 35w ballast we sell.
The Morimoto series is unquestionably the highest quality aftermarket bulbs available. Bulb for bulb sold, we deal with less warranty claims on these compared to the Philips bulbs believe it or not.
Precision aligned capsule via the use of aluminum frame structure at the base, quartz glass housing and plentiful Pax-Air halide salts all work together to give the Morimoto bulbs an output and reliability rating up there with Philips at 1/2 the price.

Sounds promising.

I'd assume they have the best quality and performance, but does it justify it being 100% more than the Morimotos?
As in if the Morimotos last for 3 years and the Phillips last 3 1/2 years and show maybe 1/2 feet more, does the $50 in price difference justify the 'quality' and 'performance'?
I could buy 2 sets of Morimotos for the price of 1 set of Phillips. TFS wouldn't sell anything inferior on there site either I don't think.
Correct me if I'm wrong, Phillips is roughly only 100 Lumens higher when the Morimoto is warmed up.

I bought my last bulbs from HIDextra (before they went crappy IMO-- cause they sold it) and they lasted two years and the light output was maybe 80% that of the 85122+ (had one on my TSX and cousins TL).

I just recieved yesterday a set of 85122+ bulbs from TRS and let me tell you its a BIG difrence from factory bulbs......let me tell you guys that i have 35% tint in the windsheild and i was having trouble seeing at night with the headlights, fogs and accord foglights......
So tonight i went out for a drive and it was reallly bright just with the philips 85122+ bulbs i spent the night just with the headlights without no problems....
So for anybody that has plans of buying new bulbs i would definetly recomend these ...

Agreed. The 85122+ are VERY bright. I ran them for a while, but hated the color. I will be getting CBIs when $$$ eases a bit after the holidays. The sale lasts until end of December---I sure hope they last.

Totally with you on the CBI's but for the price the morimotos are great. I have both and originally had the 22+ I hated the color. Must be the stock lenses. I don't have the guts to tear my oem headlights apart. I had the 22+ in for a while and switched with the Morimoto 5k and they are great. The 22+ to me looked like bright halogens. For the $$$ get motos. But I'm saving for the CBI group buy.

Didn't know there was another thread on this on the first page (fail).
Are the CBIs worth it? I'm getting annoyed because I usually try to buy the best when I buy things.
Anyone got 85122+ to CBI comparison pics? I barely can find any CBI pics that shows the cutoff, distance and stuff.
I'm leaning toward the CBI bulbs because I'm about to buy my switchbacks.

The ZKW-Rs are what really made me love my headlights. Our projectors are already some of the best out there.
As I said before, the 55+ bulbs are crazy bright, but the color looks like shit next to my 5000K fogs and switchbacks. I tried going back to OEM, but the color stayed and I lost the brightness. Switchbacks alone are enough reason to buy the CBIs, IMO.
There is a thread on here that has comparison pics, but I need to go to bed. Search and ye shall find.

My CBIs just came in today, so hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures tonight to compare against what I think is stock (just bought the car, not sure if they've been swapped yet).

Will do!
I live in Tarrytown. Went to UT from 04-06, but didn't finish . I know I need to finish up, but I've had a nice job in sales for the past few years.

Sorry for getting off topic, but what were your camera settings for this pic, it looks great!
Don't be discouraged if they seem a little yellow at first (not as bad as the 22+ yellow) they will really whiten up and get a little brighter once you get about 20+ hours on them. You can just drive with your headlights on all day to get that burn in time in.

This will give you better vision, one of the best bulbs on the market for a great price. Otherwise you can get the best of the best and get a pair of Osram 66240 CBI's but they're pretty spendy.

Not many places. Not even retrosource has them anymore because they can't get any. I found mine on ebay (watch out for fakes!). There's another guy selling some on ebay but they appear to be the US version (Sylvannia). There's some speculation about the differences on HIDP (referencing that specific auction), but I haven't checked it in a few days to see if they've made any conclusions.
