Modification To Type-S underspoiler

This might be a little late but helpful if someone is still planning on adding the factory accessory under spoilers to their 2007-2008 TL Type-S. When I went to install the front under spoiler, I noticed, in Step 7-12, of the instructions, I was to remove the left and right trim, around the fog lights, and discard. The instructions advised to remove the trim housing and then later reinstall. I found that discarding the trim and just keeping the housing eliminated the cool looking honeycomb plastic pattern that matched the grill. I did not like the way it looked, with just wide slots, with the honeycomb gone.

So....I took a handy dandy hacksaw to the discarded pieces. I carefully measured them and found if I cut the part, that went around the fog light off, and did a little more trimming, I could reinstall them between the housing and the bumper cover. Here is a picture, I hope.

There's a similar thread out there on this exact topic and most of us agree with you that it looks better with the grill. It took me a half hour to figure that out and I had to cut it off just as you mentioned.

edit - here's the thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/07-tl-s-aspec-lip-installation-question-781050/, I laugh at my desperate newbie posts for help.

I never even thought of doing that...Nice Job! Maybe if I'm ever bored I can always take the front end off again and reinstall those grilles....
