put the car in reverse

and make sure the mirror selector is on the mirror u want to move. ie if u wante passenger mirror to tilt, than mive the selector to the right as if you were going to adjust the mirror, it will then work

move the mirror select switch to either left or right, that is the one that will move downward. middle is the off position for this feature.

You're mistaken. The mirrors DO NOT tilt down on the TL when in reverse. Rather, a special set of pneumatic pumps raises the arse of the car while keeping the mirrors in place. This also prevents the rims from being scratched as you back into curbs, walls, and small animals. Acura realizes this was an expensive feature to add to such a value-priced vehicle, but they felt a deep Japanese shame at all the damage happening to people's rims from perfectly ordinary and acceptable collisions of the car with objects near the ground.

Are you sure, with my 2002 TL, in order to have the mirror tilt, you have to place the tranny in reverse, and the mirror indicator has to be positioned in the middle. The tilt feature does not work when the controller is to the right or left. Perhaps it's differenct with the 2004 TL.

That's right! RTFM! Pages 3443-3447 CLEARLY describe how you must move the side mirror control to the left if you want the dashboard brightness setting to be remembered between starts! Why is this shit so fucking hard for some people to grasp???!!???

:lol1:

At first it requires more concentration than taking a dump but not as much as, say, the daily Internet quiz on MSN. After you get used to it, though, you can not only tilt the mirrors effortlessly but can also silence the rattles and calm the vibrations. With only your mind.

Zaino: the all-purpose car wax and dessert topping you can serve your family proudly.

OK, just me, or is this turning into a bad SNL sketch?

But you have to think in Japanese, kinda like that old Clint Eastwood movie, Firefox, where the Russians built a thought-controlled fighter plane, and the US sent Clint to steal it because he was their only fighter pilot who could think in Russian.....

Please tell me you're joking. I like Clint, but that has to be the worst idea for a movie ever.

Say it together now, with Comic Book Man: Worst movie idea ever.

fla-tls - Thanks. I can't take credit, though. It's the Zaino.

Ever since I added it to my diet, I've slimmed down, my teeth are whiter, and the chicks are on me like flies on German Shepherd shit. And I have boltjames to thank for it. Before bolt, I thought Zaino was only for formal dinner parties and special occasions. Now that he has enlightened me, I put Zaino in the blender with fruit, I schmear it on a bagel, I dip veggies in it! You name it! Zaino rules!!!

That's because only the passenger mirror would tilt down, on the 2004 TL you have the option to have either one tilt

Correct me if I am wrong, but would you not want both tilting, otherwise whats the point of both tilting?

Lets have both mirrors pointing to the ground. That way when we back into that ancient sled of a Chevy with steel bumpers we can put lots of marks on the bumpers and panels. :smackhead

The reason only one mirror tilts is so you can tilt the side nearest the curb, so you can see the curb, but the other side stays level so you can check oncoming traffic while you are backing into the parking space.

I saw it right after it's on, and was kind of surprised that idea "mind-control" MIG...

At that time, it's the good one...
