To answer my own question, Yes they do fit my 2005 tl. The 2005 2006 actuators have a different part number than the 2007 2008 actuators and are listed at double the price. Most dealers don't even carry them anymore. I bit the bullet and ordered some 07s and they are identical to the ones that came on my 05. Hope this helps somebody.

I replaced mine recently (Both sides) one was clicking terribly and one had a mind of its own. it would adjust to show me the sky by itself sometimes.

Well this was a slightly productive weekend!
I got my 20mm Akata spacers in the mail. I've always had used ichiba spacers from the BM, so these Akatas were beautiful, brand new, and the anodized black looks awesome. I'm still expecting my 15mm any day this week, but won't be throwing them on until I do my front brakes and throw in the coilovers. Might as well do it at once!
I made a trip to the dealer and picked up a couple things and ordered myself a new stock shift knob + the Aspec front lip
While I was there I picked up a pair of new actuators for my side mirrors. Both were clicking horribly and one seemed to have a mind of its own so i decided to swap them out. I really love the feature of the side mirror tilting down when you put the car in reverse but wasn't able to use it because of the damn clicking. I've heard you can lube them up and it'll help for a while, but I figured I'd replace them both since they were only $35 each.
Very easy, you just stick a flathead screwdriver behind the mirror and pop out the glass. The mirror has two small wires for the heating element, and the actuators have three screws and two wiring harnesses in the back that you'll have to undo. done in less than 15 minutes each

OP never said why they needed replacing buy if it was clicking then this is a good easy fix. Did mine years ago liberally with shin-etzu grease and they have been perfect ever since.

In this post the OP says don't use a screw driver but the SM says to. You just need to protect the paint around the mirror with a shop rag or similar.

Quanaman posted the correct part number. As for the reason I replaced them, my mirror/ seat memory settings where not working. I read that faulty mirror actuators can cause the malfunction. So far everything is back in working order since I replaced them. I had that clicking problem also with my originals, so I re lubed them with lithium grease and they worked fine.
That's correct, the "mind of its own" issue only happened for me when i would lock/unlock the car, which is when the seat and mirrors should change to the driver settings. It would always aim at the sky

Then a month or two later they started doing the jittery move down and now sometimes no move down, or sudden jump in move down, or sometimes not even getting to the right position, especially on return to normal. This is almost all with reverse.

Bought our 08 Base TL recently and I am slowly learning the features. Just had to 2 brand new Driver 1 and Driver 2 keys cut at dealer and, through trial and error of programming memory seating, I find both mirrors click. I tried my trusty Maxima Chain Wax and got the passenger mirror to quiet down. Driver mirror I was not able to get to an open plastic leadscrew... not without cutting into the boot. I cut the boot to one of the leadscrews but will have to see if I can get a thin exacto knife contraption in to cut the others and then fill cavity with chain wax. Others have talked about WD-40 and white grease. I used to ride bikes and quads and the chain lube has been in the cabinet every since. It's about the only lube I've found with staying power...
So, the passenger side had an open boot on the bottom leadscrew but none of the others were open. Seems to me if the boot is closed off from the environment, and it starts to malfunction, that lube may help for awhile if you can get it in there, but the damage is already done. So, at ~$35 a side this seems like another maintenance item... you know like the motor mounts and compliance bushings I'm reading up on
