Minor accident

Hey guys,

So I was driving in the city(manhattan), and I am driving in my lane and this guys decideds to change lanes while I am right next to him. Luckily he just slightly bumps my drivers side doot and passenger door leaving his bumper paint on my door, no dents at all. I was hoping it was not a big deal to remove his bumber paint of my door, mostly white and a little bit of black. Guys any input on this would be really helpful.

Thanks,
Jake.

Prepsol, it works very well.

Then polish and wax the area.

Exclamation

^^^

Check out the Wash & Wax section of AZ. Lots of good info there. In fact, check out this thread titled, "HELP! Scratches from brush w/another car " I started this thread a few weeks back.

I'm in the process of fixing it. I started off with Quixx quick repair kit on the scuff marks, then moved to touch up paint on the deeper scratches, then wetsand and polish out. Finally once I get my UDM later this week, I'm gonna touch it up

The members over in Wash & Wax are extremely helpful and should be able to give you all the resources you need!

Good luck.

Oh yeah, here's a thread from autopia about Prepsol. It seems like it may be difficult to come by from what I read over there...

Taken from part of the thread,
"However, there are many similar or same products, the generic term is "wax, grease and tar remover".

Naptha is a stand alone solvent, also called lighter fluid.

The concern with the use of most "prepsol" type products is most contain xylene in the formulation and this will damage rubber and vinyl trim. The damage is not always seen until some time passes, plus the xylene is a known carcenigenic by inhalation, skin contact etc."

any place that has autobody supplies has prepsol. Like I said, it works great. Its a clear coat cleaner therefore it wont damage anything. Its very mild, but works awesome.
