Miles on car at time of delivery...

The original car I wanted to buy had 246 miles on it when they showed it to me. They drove it from Pittsburgh to Lancaster and didn't even wash it. I was so upset that I walked out ...plus they wouldn't give me a better deal. I told them to sell this used car to someone else.
It was a blessing in disguise, because that was an auto, I then bought my 6MT even cheaper three days later, it had 14 miles on it, 4 came from my test drive.
I had 5 - had purchased it prior to arrival at the dealer, so no one could test-drive it. Mine did have a small superficial scratch behind the rear-passenger door on the left side, and it was obvious the detailing the dealer does had been totally missed in that area.
The dealer immediately took it to the back and re-detailed it... could never tell the scratch was there. He said this is normal, to have 1 or two superficial scratches from the truck drive. He never did compensate me, except to offer me a free re-detailing after the first big rainstorm.

2 - My dealer does not offer a test drive option on the cars they sell as new. They have a fleet that they use as service loaners and test drivers.
You then get to go through their inventory and visually choose the car you want to buy with 2 miles on all of them.
With the way that I test drive (meaning ABUSE) cars i will NEVER buy one that has been test driven. (especially not one I have test driven)
My last 3 cars have all had less than 5 miles on them when i bought them.
