Miles Before Empty?
I have only filled up twice on my new arrival, when it reported that I had about 50 miles left on the current tank. Each time, though, I could only pump about 12 gallons into the tank, leaving 5 gallons left. Meanwhile, my "average" mpg on the trip computer read 22, suggesting that I had about 110 miles before empty.
Leading to my question: How accurate have you found the Miles before Empty calculation to be???

I filled up yesterday with my gauge showing slightly below empty and running about 10 miles after my miles-to-empty reading displayed zero and there was still two gallons still left.

yeah this has been discussed before, the computer warns you way too early. i have driven it until it says 20 miles left and have only managed to get 12.8 gallons in the tank. it's definitely not accounting for a few of extra gallons. i think it does not account for about 3 more gallons that are left. i get about 25 mpg so its an extra 75 miles. its a nice feature because you won't ever run the tank completely empty. but does bother me a little cause i am expecting the light to come on when i have 2 gallons left, but it comes on way earlier than that. i get about 300 miles before the light comes on. i rather get 375 miles then have the light come on.

Hmm... did a search and didn't pick up previous thread. Either way, it is good to know the quirk, so I can take it to account--sort of like setting your clock 5 minutes fast so you avoid being late to meetings. :lol2: But, now I can run it to 0 miles to empty before getting gas ....

I've had the computer say "18 miles till empty" and have 4 gallons left. Too conservative for my taste, and i hate driving around with the damn low fuel light on...
caball, that is great gas mileage, i only get around 210-250 before the light comes on...i do mostly city driving though...and I only have 600+ miles on it...hopefully it improves as time goes on...
