Mileage
Just wondering i have the 6 M/T how many miles do u get to the tank. Im a new stick driver and i was just wondering how im doing on the mileage

Tough one to answer. I think we're all finding out that the answer lies more in your particular driving style more than anything else (which is gonna be true for any car). If you are an aggressive driver, mileage will suffer (reports of folks averaging in the mid to upper teens probably fall into this category). Less aggressive drivers will get better results and conservative drivers even better.
I consider myself a moderate to slightly aggressive driver and I've been averaging 24 mpg in mixed drving in the first 5000 miles (I have an AT). On long highwway stretches, I average in the low 30's. I'm happy with that (especially compared to my last car, a grand cherokee).

With the 6MT it really varies with how you drive it. If you're aggressive on the throttle your MPG will really suffer. When I'm in a gas conserving mood, I'll try to keep the engine RPMs as low as possible. For example, I'll use 5th gear as low as 40MPH on level or down grades, this is about 1500RPM. At that rate, I can get a marginal MPG in the high 20s.
When driving highway, I have to be careful to remember the shift to 6th gear. I've been used to 5 speeds, and 5th gear on the TL can easily go to 70+MPH without any sensation that you need to upshift.

I have a AT but with 80-90 percent highway commute I've been averaging 28-30 mpg (65-80 mph). I'm a pretty easy/non-aggr driver also....
As you may have read, outside temp tends to cause a difference.. In the 40's I would only see about 26-27 mpg....

Only 120 miles on my odometer and I'm already down ½ a tank! I don't drive like a lunatic so it better get better. I read somewhere on this forum that it supposedly does with break-in.

First tank, I got 22 MPG but that was due to mostly sitting idle in the driveway while playing with the NAV and stereo.
Second tank returned 27MPG. This was mostly highway driving with A/C on and outside temps in the high 70s.
Third tank doesn't look good and didn't expect it to. I am only averaging 19 MPG according to Trip Computer. I just got over the 600 mile break-in hump and been trying to get a feel for what this car can do :smokin:

I average about 26 in mixed driving, often in heavy traffic. However, if I am even modestly aggressive--i.e. weaving, staying in 4th and 5th during my commute--it drops to 24 mpg. On weeks where I stay out of the office and do lots of local driving, it drops to 22. And, on a long weekend trip, about 400 miles each way, I averaged 28 and 29 mpg, respectively, on the trip out and return.
I wish I could get it over 30! But, I probably would have to keep it below 70 and that is really no fun.

Just out of curiosity, do most of you leave the car in Drive or do you 'play' with the Sport Shit? I use the SS most of the time and I'm pretty sure that's killing my mileage.
