MID Wacked out !...?

Hi All,

Is it normal for my MID display to tell me that I'm getting 15 MPG and 18 AVG MPH ?

What's up with that ? Can it be that something's defective ? Or maybe I'm challenged in some way ?

Thanks for your help.

It's normal if you're getting 15MPG with an average of 18MPH.

That said, try resetting the trip computer and keep in mind that street driving will generally result in lower fuel economy and average speed. Your driving style will also greatly influence fuel economy.

In my case, my trip meter hasn't been reset in around 1,000 miles and shows around 25MPG and 40something MPH. Most of that driving was longer trips.

Regards,

Absolutely normal if you do city driving often. That's about what I get. I do about 90% city driving with lots of stop and go. At times I will only get 16MPG and about 16 MPH average. Our cars do great on the freeway but poorly in the city when it comes to fuel economy.

No more thank god as gas price is going up again.

TL has great highway mileage but horrible city mileage. Possibly worse than V8s because V8s have more low end torque and never need to push RPM above 2000 in stop and go
