Metallized Tint

i read some posts about people who have concerns about mettalized tints affecting XM radio and navi. how could this be, doesn't XM and navi get it's signal from the do-hicky on the roof??

also, metallized has its advantages, but what brand of metallized tint should i seek out?

thanks.

I think you mean metallic tint. Some people say it does affect the XM and Navi.. also the antenna that's in your rear windshield.. the "do-hicky" on your roof is not the GPS reciever IIRC, it's just the XM antenna. You can get ceramic based tints which are just as good, if not better, than metallic tints.

same as "metallized". i forgot to mention i don't have navi, just wondering the issues.

hmmm, do ceramic coated tints have same UV and durability features like metallic ("metallized") tints do ??

They explicitly told me that the ceramic tint will not fade or have bubbles. My tint also has a lifetime warranty.

In writing.. if you want, I can scan it in They sign a document, write down all the information of ur car, and give you a copy of it all after they install it.. or that's what they SHOULD be doing.. for formulaone tints...

I got a pamphlet, a document detailing the lifetime warrant, reciept.. and this ridiculous plastic card that says I have FormulaOne Pinnacle tint installed.. (I just leave that in the pamphlet containing all the other documentation).

no need to send. you had said "told". i've found myself in some sticky situations when verbal agreements were made.

i'm not sure if ceramic or metallized is best.

thanks

Metallic Tint on my baby and shes good to go. The XM, AM, FM, and Navi are no different from what it was before I put the tint on. I have no idea what brand it was, but I wanted the exact same one the owner of the tint store had on his BMW 745 and it looks very nice and I love it!
