earlier this week, i was pulled over by an officer that ticketed me for my headlights being too bright, he stated to me that i needed to have them adjusted by the dealership w/ proof and all would be dropped... thought i`d share a little something that my dealerships service department left on my invoice...
*** note: a duplicate, friendlier version was also given as a backup, hahaha...***
...also notice the beautiful dealer charge for the A1 (and every other service to 2year/24,000mi)...

On a more serious note apparently a lot of people find this type of light too bright. I don't have a problem with them but a friend of mine who's a cop in Tucson says they blind her a bit. I'm worried that some day they might be pulled from the market.
That invoice is very funny though...

The problem is quite simple really. The high output from the TL's beam is reflecting off the gobs of Bryll cream smattered all over the cop's moustache. Tell the officer to put on his ugly ass highway patrol aviators and eat half a dozen donuts....maybe the crumbs and icing will take the lustre off his 'stache.
Three things:
1. VA Beach cops are the worst. A friend of mine was DUI-tested when he (completely sober) was trying to find his sister's street at 9pm on a Thursday night. Even had to fly back down to contest the assenine ticket he received.
2. I wouldn't keep your VIN and other info exposed on this board - color it in or erase it.
3. I'd love a full-size copy of it to give to a cop...

I don't find oncoming TL's even HALF as annoying as Audis, BMW's, or the friggin suv's that have them. Merc, dysLexus, 1st/2nd gen TL's i thought had the nicest, most diffused, properly aimed HID's around. The Audi's just look like astronomical Pulsars coming at you, and bmw with the projector in the reflector aimed straight forward are the worst.
Then again, ever come up against an S2000 ??? now those will put a nice tanline on your retina.
Ever notice the MDX doesn't have them ?? and why ?? Acura deemed them too high and would be blinding.

Hey, now.....there's got to be SOME way the city can raise the money to pay for the new theatre at Town Center....maybe this is it! LOL
I wrote this once before.
Where I've seen problems (being flashed) from other drivers is almost exclusively when my car is cresting a hill or on a section of road surface where it causes my headlamps to be projected higher and into the windshield of an oncoming vehicle. When my car is on the same level plane as oncoming cars, I don't recall being flashed. And I think there's one other thing at work here.
Our cutoffs are so radical that when you moving along a road, notice how the light pattern tends to "bounce" up and down. To an oncoming car, this will appear as though you are flashing YOUR headlamps.. again, because of the drastic cutoff. So, of course, he's going to do the same.
Sherlock makes a good point with the other vehicles he mentioned. And since SUVs' headlamps are mounted higher than the average car's, you tend to get hit with them a lot. In my area, we have a heck of a lot of tricked out rice burners: Integras, Civics, and Preludes are big. They have radical paint jobs, trash can exhaust tips, and rear wings way oversized for the car. Many, if not most, have after market lamps which are extremely bright and in the 6000 - 8000 degree kelvin range. These can be VERY bright.. even appearing to exceed the brightness of our Xenons.
