Memo seat

Morning everyone, fairly new 2007 TL-S auto owner here. Just a question about the memo seats, I’m using key “1”.
Memo 1 has seats all the back, memo 2 has my desired position. Sometimes I can get in the car and without inserting the key in the ignition press 1 and 2 repeatedly - without fail the seats will slide between the two settings. After I drive to my destination, park, take out key and press memo 1 my seat does nothing, in fact memo 2 is still lit. If I put the key back in it’ll work fine. I’m usually hit or miss when it comes to unlocking the car and opening the door and it working. I’ve even tried to sit in the car, arm the alarm, sit for 1 minute, disarm the alarm and open the door…seat stays put, it actually flickers then dies. Any ideas? Am I doing everything right or is there something wrong?

thanks

Little confused by your post but here goes. Are there two drivers of the car? If no just program memory seat 1 to your desired position that way it operates properly with key 1. If yes there are two drivers carry remote 2 so there are not problems. It should work like this. Lock the car, when you unlock it with remote 1 the seat should slide into the position of memory seat 1 when you open the door. If that is not happening push lock and unlock at the same time to link the memory seats. Then carry the corresponding remote to memory seat 1 or memory seat 2, whichever is your desired position. If that doesn't solve your problem I have no idea what it is.

guess what i'm rying to say is sometimes it works exactly the way it should and other times it fails.

i know how it works, it just doesn't work consistantly.

do you have both your keys within a 30 ft distance? the TL detects which key is 30ft from the doors. whichever key it detects first will auto adjust the memo seating of that key. so if you have both keys within that distance that might be the reason it keeps giving u different seat settings. when you start getting your acura link messages this is in one of the memos, it tells you whoever is driving to approach the vehicle first if there are 2 key's in the same vicinity.

I think if you open the door first then press button 1 i think what you are trying to do will work. then get back to your car get in and press button 2 (and you might have to press the button before door is closed after you sit down)

you try this?

To use a button inside the car (i.e. Memo 1), don't you have to have a key in the ignition?

Or do the seat motors run on retained power?

The seat motors run on retained power. That's why when you unlock the door and open it you will see the seat move if it was previously moved from the setting position or if the other key is used. And you can move the seats when you get in before inserting the key in the ignition, another indication of retained power.

What New Car TL-S is saying is that it doesn't always work as it should, so if it works sometimes and not others, it must be a problem with the memory system and should be checked out by the dealer.

If you can't duplicate this for them, and they don't already have a fix for this, it may be difficult for them to find.

The key does not have to be linked for the memory seat buttons inside the car to operate.
