I"ve seen stock current gen M3's go 13.2@106mph and I know my stock TL would at best go a 13.9@100mph. That's 7 car lengths. From a roll I'm sure an M3 would pull 5-6 on me... I've owned a 12.9-13.2 car and the TL won't hang for sure... I think he was pacing you or he was a conservative driver... I've seen many conservative folks short shift.

I bet a 98-99 M3 from a roll a few times last fall, pulled him maybe a car or so. This was from toll booths until about 120mph like twice.

13.9@100 stock? Unless you're pulling under 2.0 60' times (in a FWD 4dr luxury sedan), I highly doubt you're running 13's. No production TL runs a 13. Wait....no bone stock Honda runs a 13. Maybe the NSX, high 13's at 'best' given a good driver and/or multiple attempts.

One of the big magazines clicked off a 14.2@99mph with a 6MT TL.

So I figure that someone can better that. I've never seen magazine writers run better than an owner who really works at getting a strong number out of their own car.

I think the car can go 2.05-2.10 short times. Have to maybe hold revs to 2500 and roll out fast and hopefully not get sick wheelhop or spinning on 1-2 shift. I've screwed around on the street with the car and I think you can't powershift 1-2 with the traction control off without getting major spin. I've powershifted 2-3 a number of times and that seems to be okay.

And the NSX's run 13's, and so does the S2000. I'm just saying that the car should click off some 13.9@100mph passes if someone spends some time on it. With a CAI for sure.

he also had light weight wheels which will help a little and DRs will help a lot, although his short times weren't all that impressive. if his 60' were even 2.1 he would have broken into the 13s.

Drag Radials give some serious traction for low times. A 350z ran 12.7 with bolt-ons and DR on 350z.com. Without radials, he'd be a mid-low 13 car AT BEST. I'd be a little surprised if anyone ran under 14.0 stock due to FWD traction issues.

I kept up with an M3 all the way to 135 then i got and slowed down once I saw how fast we were going. They arent that fast from roll guys. And this was a REAL M3. Had the more aggressive stance and huge rims and exhaust/exhaust note. They look good tho
