Maxima versus TL

So I am almost certain that I am purchasing a TL this weekend, but the new Maxima is intriguing cause of all the options with the Elite package, what does everyone think?

Does the word "test drive" mean anything to you?

Lets not start comparing the TL to the maxima please! Does that mean we can compare the Accord to the G35??

Maxima versus TL

I don't think anyone said anything except "are u kidding me?" If you compare the two, the Maxima has more options...............

Not another, search! Get the TL, don't start asking about Nissan products here.

not the way to welcome a new member. sorry but the maxima deal is being debated over and over again recently and was getting very heated. if you page back 1 or 2 pages you will see a bunch of threads.

oh and welcome to the forum!

this was on my list before i got my TL. i had my eye on the SL. things i didn't like:

1) 6.3" lcd
2) 265HP
3) 4 speed AT (SL)
4) heated seats/side mirrors are optional
5) skyview roof looked cool in pics but if i were in the car it would really suck IMO
6) 2 friends w/ nissan have tranny problems (1 maxima and 1 quest)
7) xm is optional
8) no blue tooth
9) no voice activated
10) seen way too many on the road (yes the TL will follow as well)
11) and the stupidiest thing of all is i wanted the SL but no skyview and no sport shift and SL is 4 speed AT - OMG i couldn't stop laughing at this for a couple of days. it's ridiculous

things i liked:
1) bose 320 watts (but it's a b!tch for upgrades if needed)
2) when turning there are lights that illuminate while turn signals are on
3) elite package has heated seats in the back too (but i hardly have passengers w/ me)

i didn't even bother test driving it coz there were way too many things i hated and there was no way for an alternative solution. IMO not enough car for me. #11 on my dislikes just kills me everytime i think about it

I may be wrong, but why would anybody buy a Maxima these days when the new Altima SEV6 is a) just as fast--only 15 less hp--big deal but weighs less, b) has more passenger room, c) has almost as many options, and d) less expensive. I think Nissan shot themselves in the foot by giving the new Altima so many goodies that it makes the Maxima even less of a good buy.

Not again.. Do people NOT read these forums and just post dumb shit every day? This topic has been covered like 1000 times - so has G35 vs. TL.

Welcome to the forum, but PLEASE, before you start new threads that have been beaten over and over, READ READ AND READ some of the older threads.

Jeez.

I'm not here to sell the TL. Drive the Maxima and buy it if you like it better. It's really is that simple. Good luck.

Why Maxima?.......get a Altima SEV6......just as fast, more passenger room, almost as many goodies.....and the money you'll save will make your wallet happy.

hey sharkcba are you gonna be the main driver of the car? another thing that alot of people forget to look at when deciding on a car is the fun factor. the test drive would definitely give you that. make sure you test drive all the other cars and test drive the TL last. my commute to work has totally changed, i enjoy traffic now while i'm in my TL.

don't mind the others, they're upset coz of the repeat post. it happens to any forum you go to

here are other cars i considered before i got my TL and what i thought about them
and ranked as how i liked them

1) G35 coupe - didn't buy coz exhaust was too loud, plastic interior, too many on the road, didn't want a "your mom wants her car back" look when i step out of the car and the endless amount of options that were ridiculously priced. did like the RWD, 3D navi, bose was OK

2) WRX STI - performance wise, simply amazing, AWD, 300HP turbo charged but no radio and no luxury. i needed a car that hugs me when i'm driving to work or where ever i may go

3) A4 1.8T Quatro - great suspension, not enough toys inside and not enough car for the price

4) Accord V6 EX (fully loaded) - closest to the TL IMO but what it lacked for me was the sophisticated look. to me it didn't give that "he has a nice job" look

5) tied between ES330 and IS300 - ES330 looked "old" for me and IS300 didn't have enough power

the maxima was on the "go online and check it out" and i stopped there coz of my reasons listed above

just my 2 cents hope it helps. also remember this is a TL forum so you may upset a lot of users but who cares, freedom of speech my friend. FCC has yet to fine this site

Shark, listen, nothing personal, but you could have taken 10 minutes and trolled around the forum to see how many times the new Maxima has been covered here. Yes, you can ask whatever the fuck you want, that's what a forum is for - but why waste time and ask the same questions which have been extensively covered?

The Max is nice - however, we all agree that the TL is better.

Good luck in either of your new cars, whether it be the Max or the TL.

Read more threads though. You will gain much insight.

Why not? Both are in the $30-$35 thousand category, sports sedans, same approximate HP, same wheel drive, same torque steer.
