On both of my extrerior side-view mirrors, there is a stencil mark of letters and numbers. I have checked other mirrors on TL's and not noticed these marks. Is this something that can easily be removed (washing has had no effect). Do I simply need new mirror faces?

 

Have they been etched for theft prevention? Many dealers do this automatically to their vehicles/glass.

 

Is it on the glass or the housing?

 

I noticed these marks too. It is most noticable sitting in the driver's seat and looking out at an angle towards the mirror. It looks almost like a bar code or something.

 

i have that too, most noticalbe on the drivers side mirror, right in the middle of the glass.

 

i noticed that on the passengers side view mirror. it looked like there was a vinyl sticker and it just sorta transfered. i just rubbed it off using my thumb. i first tried to do it with a damp cloth when it was clean to no avail. so i just rubbed it off with my thumb when my mirror was clean.

 

What are those numbers and letters?

Thanks for the replies folks!. I used a little elbow grease and some eyeglass cleaner and the marks have disappeared. It was residue from the decal applied to the mirrors at the factory. Good PDI should have removed it before delivery. I will mention this when I complete my post purchase survey from Honda Canada

 

Clay bar will remove it... it looks like Greek Letters Alpha Epsilor Beta or something... I can't remember
