Manual transmissions

I've got a 04 acura tl speed with the third gear grind. I'm getting ready to put a new clutch and flywheel in it and was going to replace the transmission also. Question I'm asking is, are 04 to 08 manuals all the same, and will a 07 to 08 type s manual transmission work on my car?
any advice on this would be extremely helpfully

W-A-I-T! Before you do anything else buy three quarts of the following gear lube and put it in your transmission:Notes:
  • Make sure you buy the ACDelco Synchromesh Friction Modified version; they also make a non-FM version which is useless in our transmissions.
  • If you do a search here you will discover roughly 90% of the folks who have complained about 3rd gear grinding and/or pop-out issues have had said issues solved immediately upon replacing the MTF.
  • To answer your question, yes, all of the 3G TL manual transmissions are the same, however, the bellhousings are not.

I believe 07-08 bellhousing is different. First off have you tried switching your transmission fluid to the GM syncromesh fluid? And also why not just rebuild your transmission? A lot of transmission rebuilders can rebuild a manual with ease compared to an auto

I've already done the fluid change right after I bought the car. Hence the reason I'm going to put new transmission in car. Can I use my bellhousing on the newer transmission?

Because I can get a used transmission for alot cheaper than rebuilding it and repairing it

Yup, just swap yours over and your good to go.

I'm sure there's cheaper non Type S 6spds available.
