Manhattan Dealer and Mats question?

Does anyone have experience with Acura of Manhattan? Do mats come with the TL or are they extra? Thanks.

More precisely, carpet-like floor mats are standard, but rubber all-season floor mats are extra and retail $129 ($137, dealer installed).

Here's a couple of sources. Wherever you buy the all-season floor mats, they are easy to install, so I think I would save the $8 dealer installation charge.

The salesman I dealt with at Manhattan took over a week to return my calls despite the excellent personal comraterie we had. Also, almost half the sales staff there couldn't speak or understand English. So I bought at Curry up in Scarsdale where I found a salesman who's the most professional I've ever met.

The head mechanics at Martins Honda 2 blocks away warned me not to buy a car there. One of them got an MDX from Manhattan 2 years ago and told me how he came to blows with the GM almost punching his lights out. Don't know if they still have the same GM .

BTW, if you're here in NYC, AVOID Paragon in Long Island City like the plague. They have one of the worst customer service reputations in the country and here in the forum.

$8 installation charge? damn that's soooo funny. i can install them under 30 seconds. so, i can install 120 sets an hour, 960 sets per a working day. 4800 sets a week. i make $38,400 per a week. hahaha, i can buy a new TL every week. hahaha good deal

Actually, the need to move the driver's seat all the way back so you can hook the mats over the retainers is what drastically increases the time for installation, which also includes opening the doors, throwing in the mats, closing the doors, and congratulating yourself for saving $8.

Bold type looks good.

I purchased my vehicle at Acura of Manhattan in June and they were awesome. I'm not sure about the Honda dealership, but as far as Acura goes they were great. And if you are in New York they are very convenient and the servcie department is very good too. I met the GM at the Acura dealership and he was great, so I guess its boils down to personal preference.

those folks there in NYC were not honest, so i went elsewhere... honesty sells me, so when they try to cheat me, i can play in their ballpark because i know the game they're playing.

A lot of dealerships in NYC have bad service. Paragon Honda and Acura has the worst service. I dealt with Bayridge Honda before. This was when I still had my 03 Accord coupe 6mt. I only went there because on the weekdays the service department open till 12AM. They had good service. When I pulled up in my 03 Accord coupe 6mt/navi, all the technicians were so eager to drive it to the lift and drive off the lift. They never seen one before. I even chatted with the techs when they were working on my car.
Koeppel Nissan also has good service. They replaced the warped rotors on my 01 Maxima when SI Nissan wouldn't.

Some dealers in NYC are good and some are bad.
