well lookin' to sell my 07 TL and getting an 06 6mt this time around ^___^

just wanted to know what were some major differences.

so far from what i've seen:
-steering wheel
-gauge cluster
-taillights
-headlights
-front bumper
-stock rims

reason i'm asking is because i actually like the way the 07 looked, and was wondering if i could make the 06 look more 07.

now i know you can add fog lights to the front bumper, but would it be easier just to swap for an 07 bumper?

also how hard would it be to change out the guage cluster for the 07?

any help/info appreciated. thanks =]

 

Why don't you just get on 07 MT? You already have an 07 so sell that and buy another, it should be close to a wash but you have to pay taxes again.

 

tell you the truth, i dont even think they made any 07 manual TLs i have yet to find one and if they do they are probably the rarest TL's to get your hands on.

Keep your car i wouldn't downgrade to an 06' Your gonna lose a lot of stuff such as fog lights, blinking mirrors, and TPMS and a bunch of other stuff not worth IMHO. If anything wait and buy the Tl type-s 6mt. I upgraded my 04' TL and not worth the work if you already have a 07'.

yonkers- good point x_X i can live without all of those because i dont even use my foglights and the mirrors can be replaced right? only thing i didnt know about was tpms... they didn't have those in 06? dang... thats gonna be a tough one... but idk. i've always wanted a 6mt and i dont think i can afford a type-s

which brings me to my next question... are tpms directly specific for that certain car or just acura cars in general?

 

i think the 06 has tpms because my buddys 06 has it

 

06 has fog lights, and TPMS.

 

i dont think the 06 comes with foglights. but im sure it has the tpms now! =]

 

i have an 06, this is the year TL's got tpms, the foglight is still part of the main headlight assembly, i.e. no seperate lower foglights yet. The only major difference I havent been able to mod my way up to to has been the newer navi.

 

you also lose the aux connection, but if you dont use that it doesnt make much of a difference. honestly if i was in ur shoes and couldnt afford a type s in manual i would go for the 06. there is not much difference imo between the base 07 and the 06 model.

 

honestly a 3rd gen tl is a 3rd gen tl, i show my friends 07/08s on the road including type s' and they really cant even tell the difference. if you really want the 6mt just do it.

also what do you mean yuo can't upgrade to the new navi? i was gonna ask if that was possible since the navi difference. 3.xx to 4.xx o_O lol

 

its not really a downgrade. you lose a few features, but honestly, id rather have a 6mt that blinking mirrors, fogs, etc. those things can easily be added, a 6mt cannot be.

If you currently have an 07 you will not be happy going down to an 06. Sure its a great car but there are IMO a lot of differences you will miss.

I will say though since you said you dont have backup camera then that means you dont have nav and that sucks. A TL without nav just isnt right so if the 06 6mt has nav then I would actually consider it.

actually, alot of things made me consider this. although i do love my 07 TL as is right now. the 06 i found had alot of things that i wanted frmo the beginnging.
-the 06 is 6mt. probably main reason.
-also is NBP. i like the way my silver TL turned out but always wanted black on black.
-the 06 has nav. something my 07 didnt have.

other than that. the only things i would really miss are the blinkers on the mirrors. everytihng else i can live without or just replace lol.

plus the 06 is the exact same mileage as my car right now and i found it for a good price.

 

in that case get the 06

 

i would also rather have an 06 with navi than an 07 w/o one, and besides an 04-06 with a-spec looks way better than an 07-08 base

Well, I can always upgrade navi discs for newer maps, but for the new navi system in 08+, I believe this would require a physical swap out of the entire navi system.

 

I'd go for the 06 MT as it has Navi.
