Maintenance/Fluids

Hey all I've seen a few post's about this before but was wondering what your take is on my situation. I bought an 04 TL 6MT with 86000 miles on it about 3 weeks ago. The previous owner was a blonde chick from Austin and apparently didn't take the best care of the car because the clutch burnt out completely within one week. Does anybody have recommendations about other things I should check out and possibly replace either because of mileage or bad driving habits? I hear a weird noise when I turn the car on in the morning but I'm pretty sure that's on O-ring replacement. I also have some difficulty shifting into first occasionally even with this brand new clutch. What fluids might need replacement and which are the best ones? Thanks in advance.

you should do a 3x3 with new manual transmission fluid (GM Syncromesh) and replace your 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches.

oil change, air filter, cabin filter.... i'm sure others can chime in and tell you what else

Pressure switches are only on 5At.
3x3 is only required for 5AT, for 6MT just drain and refill, follow the instructions manual book.
Flush brake and clutch fluid (same one), flush power steering and coolant.
I did all of those when I purchased my car 2 months ago and it feels great.

GM synchromesh and ACdelco are the same product both will do a good job, as far as power steering and Coolant go with OEM, you will need 4 bottles of PS fluid and 2 of Coolant for a good flush.
Brake fluid I just used some standard Oreilly's brand Dot 4.

I think GIVATITL has pretty much summed it all....withing miles of buying a preowned car i would recommend doing the following:

Air filter
Cabin filter
Engine oil and filter (5qts)
Tranny fluid (dont know how much is needed for the MT. I know GM sync is used)
Coolant Flush (2 gallons, you will use only 1.5 thow)
Clutch (dont know how much and what)
Brake (Dot 3 and Dot 4 Valvoline is what i use, you need 1 big bottle for 2 brake bleeds)
PS (you need 2 bottles)
