Magnaflow 2.25 inch inlets

Quick question guys,

Need some help here on some measurements.

I'm currently running a mid muffler delete/straight piped with a Dynomax Res. Now I'm planning on replacing my rear mufflers with some Magnaflows 11365 2.25 inch inlets.

I currently have the SoCal quad tips and according to there website the inlet on those are 2.5 inch.. If I get the Magnaflows will they fit my quad tips? Does it make a difference between 2.25 and 2.5? Just curious before I order.

They'll fit, your welder will just slide the pipe over and weld it up.

You know your socal tips won't be directly connected to the muffler outlet right?
There will be a short length of piping between the muffler outlet and your socal tips, otherwise your exhaust tip would be super sunken under your bumper.

Ok cool so they will fit.. I'm confused when you say my tips won't be directly connected to the muffler..

Do you refer the tip of the muffler as I circled on the picture below?

There's a small section of piping that goes from your muffler to your exhaust tip.

And no, the area you highlighted is not the "small section of piping".

If your socal tips are welded onto the "small section of piping" from your OEM tips, then it will slide into the "pipe from the muffler" as you call it, or muffler outlet

Into, not over. But yes it fits inside, once it fits inside, the welder just welds all around.
I can show you my muffler if you want, i have the 11365 welded with my oem tips.
you should also extend the tips, looks much better and flush with aspec kit, not sunken look

The OEM "small section of piping" is only about 2" diameter.

found a pic i took when i painted the muffler face.

you see see the tiny pipe of the exhaust tip go inside the bigger pipe of the muffler

theoretically you're supposed to have same diameter for every connection point (2.5" pipe going to mufflers, 2.5" pipe going to 2.5" exhaust tip) but its not a big difference for an average joe

disregard what i said about extending your tips, i forgot you had socal ones which im sure the shop had fun with getting everything aligned and looking nice

GP is correct - you should have enough outlet piping on the MFs to have a shop attach your tips so they aren't sunken in. Do you have an ASPEC rear? Take a look on the first page of my progress thread (link in my signature) and you'll see that I had the exhaust shop reinstall the tips so they were a bit more visible. When I first had them installed, the shop mounted them flush with the muffler base. I lived with it for a while, and then decided to have them re-do it.
