well, to all my NY area friends... listen to this
i am sure you all see this gas station fire on the news this morning in Mineola? a getty station where i used to get all my work done, exploded.
and my girlfriends car was there getting her brakes replaced. everybody was ok.. but thats TWO black cars gone in 2 weeks.... f%king crazy shit...
you can see details on news12.com... she has the black Mazda protege parked right in front of the garage.....

Thats tooooooooooo crazy! Glad everyone was ok. Lol, i believe this is the last black car for you and yours....Understandable. Theres a supeerstition in our culture (indian) that your first car (or watever) shouldnt be black because its bad luck. At least this is what ive been told by many elders...Best of luck to you.

To parallel this with the issue jmbnova has had to deal recently (his car was jacked while sitting on the dealer parking lot waiting for service)... End result, Jeff's insurance paid for it, dealer assumed NO liability.
Do you think the gas station will assume liability for your girlfriend car since it was parked on THIER property when THIER gas station exploded... If it's managed under the same precedent as Jeff's, nope... This will be coming out of her comprehensive insurance policy.

hey sorry for the delay, i was out of town. i went on vacation 15 minutes after the fire was put out (was supposed to leave 5 minutes before it started!!
Well, i just saw the end results. pretty sad. this station was my mechanic and basically the town (mineola) mechanic. nice guy. good business, just very unfortunate. Shes is pretty upset about her car, her insurance (Geico) will pay her, then get the money from the gas station's insurance. it was a realllly big fire...
Her car was actually one of the more lucky ones. the ones in front of the pumps and on the lifts were an unbelievable disaster. Either way, it was a mazda protege, definitely not worth the repairs needed, so it is totalled. Here are some pics
shes the black mazda with no front end..melted off
Left side was melted too. glass, mirrors, doors, handles, seats, tire, wheels, bumper... you name it...
kind of a feel for the whole a scene... massive damage
Not quite sure what the news has said yet... talking with the owner, he thinks it was his acetlyne torch that exploded.... it is still being investigated i believe....

lol thanks for the offer. was actually in chicago about 3 months ago on business. my friend likes off... lake street i think? where all the train colors meet in downtown chi.
anyways. yea, the place was a wreck. i didnt take any pics of the fire, because my camera was packed for vacation. i will find some from the news though. they had like 5 helicopters over the scene.
